A place that has never been in my bucket list changed my perception
Three years from now if someone asked me about the places I want to visit in NE, I wouldn't have mentioned Manipur(I am sure most of you wouldn't). I never knew anything about Manipur except it's capital was Imphal(I am good with GK ) So when I was supposed to move to Manipur I wasn't really thrilled. And my first encounter with the place did not help much either... I remember the first time I stepped out of that tiny little Imphal Airport. It was the 10th of December,2016 and Economic blockade made the place look dead and deserted. As I sat in the vehicle it zoomed past the closed shops and empty streets. I saw no one except a few people burning government vehicles on the streets... I was terrified !
I kept cursing my luck and it took me good 7 months to actually give up on my fear and start exploring the place and talk to people. And then there was no looking back!
I proudly say that I explored the beautiful place like no other. And know about the place a little better than most natives of the state.
I fell in love with Manipur!
Manipur changed my perspective of looking at a place... It taught be that every place has something to offer. No matter how small... No matter how ordinary... No matter how un-touristy(I dunno if that's a word but you get my point right?! )... There is always something unique that place will offer... U just need the eyes to see and the heart to feel.
And nowadays when someone talks about a place and asks.. " कुछ है वहा देखने लायक ?"
I just say... " बोहोत कुछ ... बस तुमको देखना अना चाहिए।" - 13 minutes ago
