Not all fat is bad, guys! Harvard Health released an article a few years ago stating that, “researchers analyzed food surveys of over 6,000 women & the results of their cognitive testing over time….Women with the most saturated fats in their diets performed worst; women with the most monosaturated fats in their diets—from foods such as olive oil, nuts, or avocado—performed best” .
This past year I’ve been trying to add more healthy fats to my diet. I’ve noticed that I feel more alert & stay satiated longer as a result. I found a cool Fatty Sardine Salad recipe from @functional.foods that I tweaked a bit. It has arugula, avocado, a mixture of beets & sauerkraut, spiralized butternut squash, roasted Brussel sprouts, sardines, and pumpkin seeds; topped with a homemade lemon, olive oil, & liquid amino dressing.
