Different year, different goals ☺️🙏🏼 If you de have asked me what my goals were last year performance goals wouldn t have been given a second thought because I had only had ONE goal and that was to get my @wbff_official pro card as a Fitness Diva 💁🏽‍♀️ 🙏🏼 Thankfully that was the right thing at the time and it paid off ☺️ After the comp my motivation for training hit an all time low and for the first time since last May the last few weeks I have got the 🔥 back in my belly 🥰 
Here’s our sports therapist @benj.pye helping my (much weaker) left hip (years of leading with my right leg/hip in pole) which resulted in me managing 6 steps on my handstand walk (only managed 2 before today 👯‍♀️) This guys a genius at what he does 🙌🏽
Thank you Gymnastics, Pole (and all my amazing pole friends) and CrossFit for making me jump out of bed to train in the mornings again 🤸🏽‍♂️
(Ps. Are you managing your stress?

Alot of people are unaware of how much of a negative impact stress can have on our health and bodies.
.
There is a lot of different life stressors which come in many forms such as work / career, family, relationships, financial and then add on top training and dieting.
.
You can't get rid of stress completely and its not a bad thing in 'smaller' amounts, but when it starts to become chronic, is when it can lead to issues.
.
When you are highly stressed your body kicks into that 'fight or flight response.  Your body must provide you with the energy you need so your stress hormone cortisol gets elevated which elevates your blood sugar to give you more energy.  That's not a bad thing if you need the energy but a lot of the time this happens you don't.
.
Cortisol naturally rises in the morning to get us 'ready for the day' then is meant to decrease in the evening to allow us to unwind and get ready for bed.  When you are constantly stressed this isn't the case which can then lead to poor quality sleep.
.
Poor sleep also has a lot of negatives on our health and body.  You can see why it is important that we have habits in place to manage this as much as we can.
.
Below are my top tips to help reduce and manage stress.
.
1) Find out what is causing the stress and create a plan to remove what you can and reduce / manage the rest.
.
2) Take time for yourself and chill out.  Whether that is 5-30 mins.  Do something that relaxes you such as going for a walk, having a bath, listening to music, talking with loved ones, yoga, meditation, the list goes on.
.
3) Journal and write down your thoughts if you find yourself with a lot on your mind or overwhelmed.
.
4) Make sure you are getting a minimum of 7 hours sleep per night.
.
5) Do some from of exercise a minimum of 2 times per week. e.g. swimming, running, resistance training.
.
6) You can also look at supplements such as magnesium glycinate, ashwanghanda or epson salt baths 1-2 hours before bed. (Always address lifestyle first).
.

A little late night “get-down” with the weights. @lkdwornik and I ventured out to #texasgym for some back destruction. Talk about an old-school, “back in the day” vibe. This was bare bones and raw. No fancy or flashy machines. Hell, most of the machines were 20-30 years old, but DAMN did it feel good. Reminds me of the gyms I started off in. No glamour bullshit. Just get in, get intense, and get it done. If I'm going to stay true to sharing my postpartum journey, then I feel that it's important to share the attached photos.  As women, we have high expectations placed on us as to what we are supposed to look like post delivery.  It's like people honestly believe that once you birth your baby, your body is supposed to bounce back instantaneously, but it doesn't, especially with the older you are & more children that you've had. 
Our bodies, the fantastic machines that they take 40 weeks to grow, stretch and rearrange our insides to accommodate our little miracles.  It's important to remember this postpartum as its going to take time for our body to return to its new "normal." I've shared photos taken over the past 11 days.  As you can see 7 hours after delivering my belly is still the same size. I'm honestly embarrassed to share the next photo, but keeping it real. 👊  Let's say the hospital stay is never a vacation for new moms and it shows. 😂 At 1.5 days its shrunk a bit. By four days its noticeably smaller & swelling has gone down substantially & this trend continues for the following days.  I'm nowhere near what I was pre-pregnancy, but I look forward to the continued changes in the upcoming months. 
In these 11 days, I've stuck to a 90/10 diet.  I have craved sweets, so I've allowed myself to enjoy them in moderation.  Meals have been made up of lean protein, complex carbs, fruits, veggies and healthy fats along with drinking lots of water to help flush out toxins & reduce any remaining swelling.  I have incorporated light exercise as I feel better mentally & physically doing so.  No squats or anything adding unnecessary pressure on my uterus.  I focus primarily on TVA work, light resistance training, elliptical or walking on a treadmill.  I'm thankful to have stayed active throughout my pregnancy as it undoubtedly aided in my delivery and my recovery time.  If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. .

1. I grew up in Haverhill, MA (30ish miles north of Boston) and went to undergrad at Iona College in NY. I barely have a Boston accent, but sometimes a Southern NH accent creeps out after a couple glasses of wine 🙈😉
.
2. I became a personal trainer after injuring my core severely during my first pregnancy. I had a 4 finger separation from top to bottom and some areas had a depth of 2 knuckles! I healed it on my own and became fiercely passionate about helping others gain and maintain function core strength. .
3. I love to cook. I escape into my kitchen when I can’t escape to the gym and love cooking enormous meals for my family. .
4. I LOVE barre fitness. I think it’s the single most necessary modality to combine with your other forms of fitness. It’s alignment based, low impact nature makes it accessible for anyone and everyone and strengthening your stabilizing muscles by working through end ROM is the BEST! 🙌🏼👯‍♀️ #biased .
5. My athletic background is very diverse! I was a dancer for 10 years, swam and ran competitively, was the volleyball captain and played soccer (but hated it). Distance running was my jam for a long time, but now I hardly ever run. .

Last time I hit this for a double, I was 29 lbs heavier. Now, we at 202.5 lbs. Cutting process has slowed down by alot but its okay. We're getting stronger still. The grind don't stop. 585 lbs for a double post pause squat session. K. That is all. Tyfyt.

Going to try to get used to posting these kind of pictures. I’m usually not one to show my stomach but this is almost a 3 month photo transformation. Now I know there is a lot more work to be done when it comes to MY body goals, but this is NOT a diet. It’s a lifestyle change. Between meal prepping, trying to hit the gym at least 5-6 times a week I’m starting to notice a huge change in my body. I’m nowhere where I want to be, but I’ll get there with hard work and dedication. Slowly working on becoming a better version of myself and learning to become more confident. If there is something you want to change or “improve” you are the only person who is capable. Oh and remember don’t forget that this is a lifestyle journey. NOT a diet, so don’t be too hard on yourself. ❤️💪🏻 •

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a process. I didn’t gain all this weight overnight in fact it was a period of six months after my surgery. It was very hard to get up everyday knowing that I wanted to work out but couldn’t. And if I couldn’t workout then why should I eat right. (Very wrong mentality to have) had I ate right this wouldn’t be so hard right now... at least I’m on the right track. It doesn’t get any easier. It’s still as hard as it was on day 1. But I’ve invested so much time into this and I’ve been eating clean for 50 days now so it’s not even worth it to take a step backwards at all because I’d just ruin all that progress I’ve made so far.... I have a point to prove to myself, that I can have the dream body that I’ve always wanted, the body that I’ve come so close to having before! I’ll get there!
