“For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.”
When we think of God’s provision for us we tend to list the blessings that we can see and touch. Health, shelter, food, family, friends, and jobs come to mind. Here in today’s verse the Lord offers something greater, the satisfaction of our souls.
He speaks here not to everyone, only to the soul who thirsts for God. To the one who can say, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for you, O God”, He says come and drink (Psalm 42:1). To anyone who cries out to Him, knowing they are not whole without His presence, He brings satisfaction at the deepest level.
The thirsty soul cries out, “There is none like You O Lord.”(Jeremiah 10:6). To that soul God promises satisfaction and rest. ““If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the scripture said, “From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.””(John 7:37). #life #peace #satisfaction #meaning #hunger #thirst #god #bible #jesus - 1 hour ago
