You can't go wrong with this Herbed Chicken Sandwich!  A fresh pineapple bun is the not-so-secret ingredient! 🍍 #blebrightsummer

Marinade makes 4 fat servings

Ingredients: ▪️3 cloves garlic, minced
▪️1/2-1 onion, diced
▪️1/4 cup parsley
▪️1/4 cup basil
▪️2 tsp dry mustard ▪️2 tablespoons Dijon mustard ▪️2 tsp salt
▪️2 ounces olive oil
▪️juice from one lemon or lime ▪️4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 
1. Combine ingredients and add chicken, let marinate for several hours.
2. Spray grill with non-stick cooking spray and heat to medium-high.
3.  Grill chicken for 5-7 minutes per side. 
4.  Serve on fresh pineapple slices (up to 6 ounces total) and add red onion and green peppers to round out your vegetable serving. .

🥗EAT TO FEEL GOOD- just by focusing on choices that make you feel good, I bet you’ll find yourself in better shape.

MOTIVATION MONDAY!⠀
This before photo wasn't of me at my heaviest. I reckon I was only a size 24/26 there. I used to avoid cameras like the plague as you might imagine back then! Not anymore though. I'm right up for a good selfie! 🤳 😁 And I use photos nowadays, not just to track how far I've come but to also remind me where I'm never going back to. So whatever point you are on your journey, take photos. It might just provide you motivation and inspiration in the future 😍 #mondaymotivation

🖤I couldn’t run before. Something most of us probably take for granted! Movement. I remember I was at this 5K w a l k i n g -but failed to finish. I left my group mid way because I was holding them back. (They swear I wasn’t but yea ok lol) I made up an excuse for why I had to leave but I was embarrassed and hated feeling like a failure. 😪Old Alex would rather not try at all than fail at trying. I’m not sure what switched in my brain other than the fact that I was TIRED of living a double life. 🌚Happy on the outside and miserable on the inside. Sound familiar? Even the people with the hard shell can crack. I needed to. Now? I can run. Not very fast lol! But I can. And that’s more than I could say before. You couldn’t pay me to try. I was my biggest enemy. 🤬 NOW IT’S TIME FOR REDEMPTION:  I’m wanting to try another 5K soon. Anyone have a favorite in OKC to sign up for? 💥

Thirteen months post gastric sleeve surgery. Too many people think weight loss surgery is ‘the easy way out’. Wrong. 
If you get to the point of needing the surgery, you’ve got a relationship with food/eating that’s so messed up, it’s a disorder, a mental illness. When you’ve eaten enough, that switch that works for everyone else to tell them to stop eating, no longer works. It physically and mentally stops working. 
So when you have this surgery, you have to unlearn all of your harmful behaviours immediately. Not everyone can. You have to face a lot of truths about yourself that you’ve pushed so deep down that it’s hard and painful to dig them up. 
You have to educate yourself, continually, to learn how to eat, move and live differently. Then there’s the change in how you’re treated by strangers. It’s a mind fuck. And all of this is happening at a rate your brain will struggle to keep up with. 
So many people think it’s a case of eating less...BOOM...lose the weight. And sure, that’s true, to an extent. But just losing the weight won’t necessarily sort out the mental side and it won’t necessarily make you stronger, fitter or healthier. That’s all on me, just as it is for anyone who loses weight without surgical intervention. 
I’ve lost 68kg in 13 months and in nine weeks I’m having vaser liposuction at @cosmosclinic to get my body in the best shape possible to prepare for extensive reconstructive plastic surgery next year. 
So tell me again how this is the easy way out? I’ll wait...

How to track your weight loss journey without having friends asking is this it? Have you reached your goal now? 
Some say never stand on the sad steps, I say please do! 
If I don’t check my weight now and then, like this last week, when the kids have been home, I tend to put on weight , just like that.
I puff and run yesterday my 1.6 km which is normally nothing . 
It was something yesterday! And that was only a short break of 10 days or less of no exercise! 
I know better- we all do and still I ate what they kids like and guess what-  I put on weight in just 10 days!
The dress I was going to have and the jacket I had bought were to small as my bobs had exploded by the carbs and the sweets - just 10 days with my kids eating habits from school!
I know I should do better than that! But I didn’t.
On top of the kids favourite meals I sat and worked at the 💻 all day long so the exercises weren’t there either!
Guess what!
All that food ended up from my face down!
So as my mantra is ‘ never give up’ and consistency is the mother of all success, I am back in the game again! 
Never ever give up!
And! 
Don’t let any nay sayers make you believe that you won’t get there!
If they ignore you or your ideas or dreams - they are not the right friends in the 1st place! So just go away and find likeminded friends who appreciate you and have the same desires and dreams as you! 
If they ask is this it? Have you made it now? Say yes! And then you can think OMG! When! Will it all happened - don’t stop just before the gold is showing!

For who are you doing all this in the 1st place? 
For you?
For your family ?
Or for your friends? 
When you have a big house and big income people tend to ‘ forgive’ and over see your ‘quarks’ 😎 - when it’s just you and nothing else you can offer - it’s funny how some people get bored with you 💨 fast! 
You weren’t that good friends to start with then, were you? 
Just a thought from last couple of weeks as I haven’t changed but to be more of me ✅❤️👍 but my circumstances has changed and by so the ‘acceptance’ of what I do and say has lessen.

When I started Keto in October 2017 I was terrified that it’d just be ANOTHER failed attempt to lose the weight..well, HERE WE ARE! When I first started I was so worried I’d “mess up” or “eat the wrong thing”..I spent a lot of time worrying..looking back in retrospect I should have been a little easier on myself. There is SO much to learn and it takes time. Do some independent research..watch YouTube videos, join fb groups, ask questions..be patient with yourself as you figure it out..I remember how confusing it is. If you “eat the wrong thing” it’s not going to undo all of your hard work...it’s FINE! Like I said, this is a LEARNING experience! You won’t be successful if you blindly jump in..I planned/researched for a week before we started. Try that! Make a meal plan, buy your grocery’s..and take it one day at a time. It’s possible to change your life..you just need to find your willpower and remember that you’re stronger than your cravings. Eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re full. Drink water. Eat whole, natural food. KEEP IT SIMPLE! .

There is SO much to learn and it takes time. Do some independent research..watch YouTube videos, join fb groups, ask questions..be patient with yourself as you figure it out..I remember how confusing it is. If you “eat the wrong thing” it’s not going to undo all of your hard work...it’s FINE! Like I said, this is a LEARNING experience! Back home so we stopped at my
Fav Korean bbq ❤ mini vacation over, did really well maintaining keto except some ube cake Haha. But other than stayed on track. I indulged a bit but it was worth it lol

*swipe* Been inconsistent w/ my food choices lately and way too much snacking which doesn’t = results. I’m going back to the basics and doing what I did in the earlier stages of when I was 260+ lbs. // I plan on eating the first pic MON,WED,FRI and the second pic TUE, THUR,SAT. // I’m going to try my best to stick to this 100% of what’s on these papers.. Since I’ve been slacking this will be a challenge for me but I’m ready for it. // And before the food police come regulate about the lean cuisine, I used to eat 2 McDoubles, lrg fries, w a large coke and 3 cookies for $1 from McDonalds so let me eat my processed lean cuisine in peace. To be honest I didn’t know there was that big of a difference between these two bodies. I had already lost 35 pounds at that point. I just saw these shorts and was curious how big they would be on me. If I let go of them they fall down... I don’t have any of my clothes from 210 pounds me but I wish I did for this reason! .

Just to clear the air *that is not my bra*. I was in a dressing room ppl.

Something that I’m constantly reminding myself of lately: Striving for perfection is what’s making you lose.

Somedays you’ll eat something that doesn’t fit in your macros. Doesn’t mean you can’t continue eating mindfully the rest of the day.

Somedays you’ll miss a lift, doesn’t mean you can’t still get some movement in and crush your lift the next day.

Somedays you won’t get all the work done you wanted to, doesn’t mean you accomplished nothing.

Don’t set unrealistic expectations for yourself or you will always feel like a failure.

Take time at the end of the day to acknowledge what you accomplished that day, and be proud of that. Give yourself time and grace.

This is just something that I know I’ve been resonating with lately, so I figured someone else probably needed it as well. ❤️ goodnight you guys

Pan-seared salmon via: @foodminimalist with tahini-miso sauce, served with a salted shaved cucumber salad—an easy dish that comes together quickly for a healthy delicious weeknight meal. .
On a mandoline, thinly cut a few small Persian cucumbers, place in colander and toss with about 2 tsp kosher salt. Let sit and drain over the sink or a bowl. Cucumbers should give out some liquid and soften a bit. Meanwhile, make the sauce + cook the salmon.

Tahini-miso sauce: In a small bowl, mash together 1 Tbsp white miso and 2 Tbsp tahini with a fork. Stir in about 1 Tbsp sesame oil and whisk with fork until smooth. Add a bit more oil if needed. Splash in a bit of warm water to thin out the mixture, keep stirring until well-combined and smooth. Add in about 1 Tbsp rice vinegar, continuing to whisk, drizzling in more warm water if you’d like to have a thinner sauce. Crush a small garlic and combine with tahini mixture. Taste, adjust seasoning to your liking; add a bit of fish sauce if you need it to be a touch saltier (omit altogether if things are already flavorful). Set tahini-miso sauce aside.

Cut 1 lb. of salmon into ½ inch slices. You should have about 6-8 pieces. In a hot cast iron pan (or nonstick pan), add some neutral oil and sear the salmon slices on high heat (in batches if necessary as you don’t want to crowd the pan), about 2 min on one side, flip and cook for about 30 sec-1 min on the other side. . .

You can change your life in 6 months. I have 🥳 stop telling yourself you’re going to start tomorrow and start your healthy lifestyle RIGHT NOW. Start with your nutrition. Make sure you’re eating at a caloric deficit (eating less!) find healthy foods you actually like as opposed to eating things you think you should eat (salads 😴) Same thing with working out! Find what you actually like to do and think outside the box. (Sports, swimming, stair stepper, HIIT, Group classes, LISS, lifting) anything that gets you excited because it’s the only way you’ll stay consistent. Make yourself a workout routine and work hard on forming those healthy habits so you can rely on them when motivation doesn’t show up to the party. And most importantly!!! Change the word DIET to HEALTHY LIFESTYLE 💛💛💛 Dont just lose weight in time for your wedding or a special trip. Create healthy habits you can implement into the rest of your life. With a diet you restrict yourself. With a healthy lifestyle you let yourself indulge and you DONT feel guilty about it 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 .
