Ending the long weekend off with zero regrets.

I used to going into a Holiday weekend saying I wasn’t going to “cheat”. Then I would “cheat” and continue to shove nothing but crap food in my mouth for the rest of the weekend.

Come the end, I was so disgusted with myself and I swore I was going to “eat clean” and end up binging for most of the week. Finally I would have enough of feeling like crap and would restrict myself to almost nothing.

Those days are long gone and now I go into a weekend excited to to spend time with the people that mean the most, enjoying some delicious food and knowing that I am not undoing my hard work. I know what makes my body feel good and what doesn’t.

TRICEPS TRAINING MISTAKES: Tag someone who needs to see this 👇!

If you’re on the quest to grow bigger triceps, then chances are you’re doing some form of a pushdown. However, despite this exercise coming across as simple to execute, there’s actually a few technique adjustments you want to be aware of in order to maximize the tension placed on the triceps and minimize injury/discomfort 👇.
.
🚫One common mistake is standing too close to the pulley with a completely upright back. What this does is limit the range of motion since your hips are physically in the way of the bar at the bottom position. Thus, at the bottom position, your triceps are unable to reach their peak contraction 👎. Not to mention that at the bottom, based on the position of the cable relative to your forearm when standing this close, there’s virtually no resistance. Add the fact that the leverages when in this position can cause the shoulders to take over for some individuals as well, and you can see how it quickly becomes sub-optimal for triceps growth 🙅‍♂️.

✅ Instead what you can do is first take a few steps back, very slightly hinge at the hips, lock your elbows to your side, and then proceed to perform your reps. This slightly increases the ROM of the movement since your hips are no longer in the way, and as you can visually see, the triceps are now able to reach their peak contraction.

P90X2 is no joke... my core is exhausted!. I can't do the pushups with medicine ball or one leg burpees on medicine ball yet, plank burpees on a stability ball is very hard and the Dreya roll was an epic fail again 🤣

Today was my last day off, this month. I've had such a great time. I've had copious amounts of family time, caught up with some friends, me time and even time to work in my "under construction" garden. #feelingblessed

Yet, what could I have done with today? Extra time 😂🤣

Confidence is built, not born.

Growing up I always thought we were born with the things we were going to be confident in, and that was that. But in the last two years I’ve gained more confidence in things I never thought was possible and my perspective of confidence has change immensely.

To start: sharing my story, that shit is SCARY, to say the least. Second my insecurities, third Public speaking, four taking photos, five talking about what I do... and it goes on.

Just like our fitness journey, we have to work on our confidence. FIVE tips I could give you that I have felt that helped me, are:

1. Be kind to yourself
2. Remember WHY you are doing something, sharing something or starting
3. Be okay with the growing pains 
4. Allow yourself to be selfish and value your opinion about what you want, the most. 
5. Recognize how far you’ve come every step of the way.

So many of the conversations I have with you gals comes with fear of failure, judgement, public/ family opinion or even current criticism of why we don’t have confidence in ourselves or the pursuit of something.

I used to struggle so hard with this and it still seeps in my thoughts but let me remind you, which is what I remind myself every day: if I worry about others, what they think, do or don’t do... and I continue to focus my energy on that. My overall happiness and qualify of life will always be compromised.

@brawny_line It's such a struggle to make it out of the house, most of the time I get bad anxiety and feeling of overwhelm when trying to leave the house alone with them.

Took my workout outside today!! ☀️ And it felt ahhhhhmazing! Had to move to the shade mid workout! 😅

Got in some total body cardio and it felt good Bc it’s the first cardio I’ve been able to do in over a week! Those dang POTS episodes shuts my whole body down and recovery is the worse! But thankful I’m at 110% and doing all my precautionary things to prevent another episode. 🤞🏼

Anyone else over eat this weekend or just me?? 🤷🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ So much yummy food! And I had no restrictions! It was all on my meal plan Bc I make my own! Lol but seriously days like that are worth the little over indulgence to me anyways. That’s why I stay consistent with my workouts and healthy eating so I can have those days where I don’t have to follow a so called “meal plan”. I live the 80/20 lifestyle and love it! Bc I love food but I know what’s good for my body too! 💕

Eggs, sweet potatoes, apples, raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, coconut milk... So yummy and filling. 
And with it already prepped and ready to go, it makes for a super simple healthy breakfast choice.

At home leg circuit or gym finisher 🍑🔥 🔹 LEG CIRCUIT🔹
1️⃣ pulse lunge (3) > jump: 12 reps each leg, keep the weight in your heels and try to explode as high as you can on the jump. 
2️⃣ surrenders > squat jump: 12 reps each leg, try to put the legs far enough out in front of you, keep weight in the heels. (Be gentle when getting back in the kneeling position) 
3️⃣ squat pulses: 5 pulses = 1 rep, 15 reps. Keep the weight in the heels try to actually be pushing yourself up in down on the pulses not just bouncing. 
4️⃣ kickback crossovers: 20 each leg, try to go at a controlled speed and go as high and wide as you can when crossing over
🔁 repeat 5x total with 45-60 second breaks at the end of each circuit. Ideally no breaks in between exercises
