Where are my prior high school/college athletes at?! 🙋🏽‍♀️ THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! 🙌🏻
I can tell you from personal experience that life after being an athlete and playing sports is HARD. 
You’re so used to having structured practices with set workouts/exercises for you to do. You’re used to being able to eat whatever and what feels like a million calories because you run them all off in the game or the sometimes 2 a day practices. You’re used to constantly being on the go and having teammates there to keep you accountable for doing your best. 
So what happens after that life and that structure is over? 
Often times, we don’t know what to do for our bodies because we were so used to someone else telling us what to do and structuring our fitness life.
This is where I was at and what I was struggling with when I decided to start my journey as a coach.
Because I had tried it all. Pinterest workouts, workout apps for my phone, Amazon workouts, YouTube yoga, and even trying to come up with my own programming to do at the gym, you name it.
Nothing was working or giving me the results I wanted to see. I was frustrated. So I ended up just giving up on anything at all. 
Enter these workout programs that I could do from my house and I had found my answer.
Exactly what I was missing from the sports practices I was used to. Someone structuring programs and meal plans for me. All I had to do was push play and follow along. 
And to be honest? I’m in better shape now than I EVER was in the past. INCLUDING when I was playing soccer full time (outside right mid so ALLL the running). I am more toned now with more muscle than soccer ever gave me and I never stepped one foot outside my living room “gym” and I have my “team” of ladies cheering me on and holding me accountable.

TIPS FOR GROWING YOUR INSTAGRAM BUSINESS ACCOUNT ⭐️

1. 💡FIND YOUR INSPIRATION! I post lifestyle along with Nursing.  However, some accounts choose to focus solely on one topic. I enjoy mixing it up but my focus remains consistent. 
2. 🖌BUSINESS PAGE: Make your Instagram a Business page! 
3. 📈LEARN your stats, engagement, good posting times, (per new insta algorithm). Everyone’s is different. 
4. 🌟EDIT! Find editing apps & learn your phone & or camera settings. I use the Lightroom app, have picture presents, use my iphone and a Cannon, to help get my page looking Tip Top! @lightroom @lovelylittlelybecks 
5. ♥️TAG TAG TAG! Tag companies you like or interest you! Reposts from other accounts and collbs can help with growing! 
6. 🖤BRAND What is your personal brand? From colors to your message, fonts, scheme, etc. 
7. 🎈 #HASHTAGS! Every account is geared towards hashtags & the algorithm instagram creates. Adding your interests via hashtags helps gear your account to other people.
8. 💃🏼🕺🏼ENGAGE with other accounts! There are so many amazing people behind accounts! Find people you like to feature, work with, collab, spread your word. 
9. 🧚🏻‍♀️DAILY POSTS OR ENGAGEMENT. I try to keep up with this but it can be difficult. But the more you engage the more you get back! 
10. 🧞‍♂️IGNORE THE NEGATIVES. You can’t please everybody! And you are bound to become frustrated in one way or another. And that’s ok. I have had moments getting down on myself, hurt by others, frustrated by others, but I let it go! Channel your energy into positive thoughts. 
11. ⭐️HIGHLIGHT STORIES! Much of my growth and true engagement comes from my Stories! The more personal side of instagram! 
12. ✏️QUALITY MESSAGES: Post pictures or videos with mindful messages! Quality, thought, creative, engaging posts! What is your message? Fun, educational, products, etc. 
13. 🧜🏽‍♀️HUSTLE! Social media while fun is a hustle (which I love) But it takes work and time. There is no easy way for true growth and quality community. You have to earn it. I put a lot of time and effort into my account. 
14. 💃🏼HAVE FUN! Although overwhelming at times I try to stay focused on enjoying the process!

To supplement or not to supplement…

The old me would have scoffed at this question. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"I eat a well balanced, whole food diet. I'm covered". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And yet, despite eating a well balanced, whole foods diet, I still wasn't thriving. My fatigue, digestive issues and immunity seemed to be getting worse, despite doing all the right things.

More confusion, more frustration, more sickness…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what did I have to lose? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I gave supplements a go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But not just any conventional supplements you can buy at the chemist or off the shelf at Woolies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Functional Medicine supplements. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Start asking your health care provider what are the side effects and nutrient depletions of every medication they put you on... if they cannot answer that, then get another health provider. P.S. There are ALWAYS side effects AND nutrient depletions.

If you don't know EXACTLY why you are taking something, I would suggest you find out why. 
With every treatment recommendation from a provider, you should also be getting the risks, benefits, and alternative solutions as well so you can weigh your options.

That is just called standard of care.

Te comparto 𝘚𝘖𝘓𝘖 𝘢𝘭𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘰𝘴 de mis 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮!🌟⭐️🌟 Me funcionan increíble con mis pacientes por qué aparte de que la mayoría aportan menos de 100Kcal son delis y algunos de ellos (o la mayoría) fáciles para llevar! ⠀
Otro punto importantísimo es el nivel de saciedad que este tipo de snack te puede dar, actualmente en el mercado tienes infinidad de barritas, churritos y de más que se hacen pasar por alimento “healthy” cuando, ese alimento ya es un alimento procesado, eso ya es un cheat meal que seguramente no te dejará saciado si no con ganas de más, por qué sin temor a equivocarme te digo que el 90% viene en porciones pequeñas y tú nivel de saciedad queda muy bajito.⠀
Aquí te pongo la porción sugerida o el equivalente de cada una de las opciones que te doy:⠀
1. Palomitas, snack estrellísima!!! Les encanta porque son una delicia. Te aportan aprox 70kcal con una porción sugerida o equivalente de 2½ tazas, obviamente hechas en casa! Padrísimo porque tú controlas la cantidad de sodio y grasa.
2. Los pepinos con limon y chile piquín son una maravilla! Te estarán aportando aprox 32Kcal - 2 tazas!!!⠀
3. Las almendras, sin duda de las grasas saludables favoritas te aportan 66 calorías - 10 piezas ⠀
4. Los peanut celery son deli!!! A mi me encantan y 1½ taza de apios te aporta 22 calorías + 2 cucharaditas de crema de cacahuate distribuidas como camita en cada mitad 60kcal ⠀
5. Lo mismo la manzana con peanut butter se me hace un snack delicioso y te aporta aprox. 90kcal, una pieza y 1½ cucharadita. ⠀
6. Para colación ½ taza de pudín de chía te queda perfecto y aproximadamente te estará aportando unas 67kcal (+ los frutos que le pongas) #mejorquuenunca #snacks #healthysnacks⠀

Em clima de festa junina, compartilho uma receita fácil de bolo de milho de caneca!! 🙌🏼
🚫 glúten, 🚫 lactose, fofinho e saboroso 😋!
Ingredientes:
🌽 1 ovo
🌽 4 cs de milho cozido (usei o de latinha mesmo)
🌽 4 cs de leite vegetal (usei de coco)
🌽 1 cs de óleo de coco
🌽 3 cs de farinha de milho em flocos pré-cozida
🌽 1 e 1/2 cs de açúcar demerara ou xylitol
🌽 1 cc rasa de fermento químico para bolo
Bata os 4 primeiros ingredientes no liquidificador até que o líquido fique bem homogêneo. Transfira o líquido para uma caneca e insira os demais ingredientes deixando o fermento por último. 
Leve ao micro-ondas por aproximadamente 2 minutos. Pode variar conforme a potência do seu micro-ondas. Desenforme e polvilhe coco ralado por cima 😉‼️Sugiro um chazinho ou café para acompanhar, bom apetite‼️✌🏼

You’ve probably heard that we were duped by the age-old prescription saying we need eight glasses of H2O per day. 💦💦💦
You may be surprised that this advice actually has no legs to stand on as it is completely subjective to each person; the amount of physical exertion, the climate they are in and most importantly what foods they are eating. A person eating a diet that is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables will actually need to consume way less water than a person who follows the Standard American Diet (SAD) or something similar.

What we do know is that it’s important to stay hydrated. Water can help with weight control because it keeps you feeling full, it flushes toxins out of our bodies, and our kidneys need water to function. Some studies hint that staying hydrated translates to better concentration, too. 
Why hydration is about the water you hold, not the water you drink ❓ 
When we are born, approximately 75% of our body is water, and as we reach middle age our body’s water content could be as low as 50%. Our cells lose water as we age and our wellness is determined by our cell’s ability to hold water.

Growing up I was ALWAYS shy! To the point where I would hide behind my mom when we would go visit our grandparents. 😂 Ever since I was little I did feel that way inside; I didn’t want people to know who I was right away, I was quiet. I grew up taking on that role because everyone told me that’s who I was. My brother was the outgoing, funny one and I was ... #shy. As I have gotten older, I’ve definitely gotten a lot more comfortable with who I am. Comfortable enough to not care what people think (I tell myself that, it’s not 100% true... I’m working on it). Now, when I tell people that I’m “shy” they tell me I’m not. It’s made me to realize that building relationships with other people is what is most important to me and being vulnerable and letting people in, is the only way to do that! We are often so concerned about what others think of us, that was aren’t allowing them to see our true selves. I think I’ll always have a part of me that wants to hide behind my mom (😉), but that’s not all of who I am either! 
Even posting this is way out of my comfort zone, but sometimes being uncomfortable is so rewarding. ☀️☀️☀️

When I graduated from high school I thought I would breeze through nursing school and find a cute little nursing job right away. Haha! That didn’t happen, but I learned so much through the process of “failure.” Looking back, there are so many reasons why that path didn’t work out for me. I met so many people I wouldn’t have, I was more able to form a healthy adult relationship with my parents, and I worked ten times harder to prove to myself (and others) that I could be successful. All that being said, I neglected my health to focus more on studying for the last 2 years. Now that I don’t have to study as much, I have time and energy to make healthier choices and work on myself ~and hopefully create a better foundation for what’s to come as a new nurse. 👩🏼‍⚕️💪🏻💞

I’m back from finals and I have about a month break from classes! ☀️ To celebrate I am soaking up the sun, traveling to great places, & spending quality time with the people I love! 💓 •••
TIPS FOR A HEALTHY SUMMER LIFESTYLE ☀️
1. Carry a water bottle err-where! - make it a habit to always have one in your bag 💦

4. Enjoy the summer season’s produce! Eat meals that incorporate summer’s fruit 🍅
