THIS Spicy Polynesian Poke Bowl is one of my favorite grab and go lunches/dinners and now with @peiweiasiankitchen new clean label initiative, it is at the top of my list. Much like @Beautycounter is changing the face of the beauty industry with clean, safe products and transparency, so is @peiweiasiankitchen making a difference with clean, whole fresh foods and transparency of what’s in their food. Who doesn’t love a company that actually takes our health into consideration.
Kudos to @peiweiasiankitchen and their CEO J Hedrick for leading the way 🏽🏽🏽 ‘Our clean label initiative, The Wei Forward, embodies the belief that food should begin with wholesome, fresh ingredients. Our vision is clear and we’re committed to following through. Today, 30% of our rice bowls are entirely free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives, and that number will be up to 53% by the end of this year. Our goal is to remove artificial ingredients from our entire menu by the end of 2020.
We believe that in order to live a healthy, balanced life, it’s vital to understand what’s in the food we consume. For too long, restaurants have lobbied to hide what’s in their food from diners, and we don’t think that’s right. That’s why Pei Wei has submitted a petition to the Food and Drug Administration requesting that restaurants be required to publish their menu’s ingredients.
If all restaurant chains were required to publish their ingredient statements, we could all enjoy more peace of mind when dining out. We hope that you will join us in the fight to change the restaurant industry by signing our Change.org petition.
