So last week was a big fat fail. I had a lot of trouble sticking to the plan I made for myself and I ate hoorrrriibbbllyyy. But guess what? We're right back like we never left. Started the day off by hitting the grocery store and loading up on plant based foods. This week's goal is to cleanse my body of all the crap I've filled it with lately and replace it with all the colorful nutrients it deserves. Let's go. I plan on posting my meals this whole week so stay tuned!

I wanted to share with you why I love meditation so much 🧘‍♀️.
.
In truth my mind never stops talking and it drives me nuts.... literally 🥜.
.
You see for as long as I can remember I had always been a half glass empty kind of gal.  Always so negative and thinking about the “what if’s” 💁‍♀️. .
This was amplified after my son was born with cancer and again after my marriage separation and I fell into a deep deep depression 😞.
.
Again I was left with the “what if’s” asking myself questions to events I did not have the answers for 🤦‍♀️.
.
It had to stop, I had to silence the mind the constant negative self talk was literally killing me.  I developed auto-immune disease and the pain was crippling me.  I knew this had to stop, I was only 34 and I had two young children that needed me 👦 👧.
.
One day I woke up and as hard as it was I pulled myself out of bed and began to make small changes in my day to day life including daily meditation 😊.
.
I had heard about meditation before but had never really tried it but after listening to a few different podcasts and reading different books I decided to give it a go ✨.
.
Now I am a convert, I meditate for 20 minutes every day.  I do all sorts of meditation, guided, manifestation, mantra, silent and sometimes even a walking meditation, whatever tickles my fancy that day ☺️.
.
I have learnt to silence the mind and most importantly my meditation practice tends to give me all those answers I was forever searching for.  I have mental clarity and I am now so much more half glass full then empty 🤔.
.
Meditation is my peace, my harmony, my sanity, my spirituality and I am forever grateful that it is a big part of my life 🙏.
.
So Lovely, I’m actually curious... does anyone else suffer from constant negative self talk ❓

If I have learned anything in the last year and half it this...... .

If you don't set goals or have some sort of direction in life, you literally just end up running in circles!
. 
So don't stand still in your life, keep moving forward.  Set goals for yourself, and hold yourself accountable!!!! #onelife
.
I am so grateful that I changed my ways, for the longest time I felt like I was on a treadmill going nowhere.
.
Now I have big goals and dreams, I believe in myself and I will bust my ass until it is my reality.
.
I believe I got a second chance at life here and I'm definitely going to take control back on this one! .
.
So set big GOALS for yourself, BELIEVE in yourself....and then work your ass off so they become your reality. .
Start living the life you DESERVE!!

😩I am feeling quite overwhelmed today.  My 2 year old woke up early this morning interrupting my workout (which I need mentally more than physically), my house is a mess, children are fussy, no food prepped, just feeling like a hot mess really.

I would love to have a beautiful lunch prepared to picture up and show you and inspire you, but this is how it is today.  This is my reality.

I barely can take the time to eat so I just grabbed a bunch of oranges, scarfed them down, and called it good. .

Is it balanced…no.  Is it perfect…no. .

Is it healthy…yes.  At least I grabbed some whole plant food and ditched the processed junk. .

Back in the day I would grab a bowl of sugar coated cereal and 5 bowls later feel like a complete failure.  Going in a downward spiral of self-sabotage and self-loathing. .

Now I am at least making healthier choices even when I feel like life is out of control.

Some days are like that though.  I have a very busy household with 8 children and trying to launch my own business.  Life.  Is.  Crazy!  And that’s okay.  It’s not always going perfect.

We just do the best we can moment by moment.  And day-by-day we continue towards our goals even though our steps may feel like baby steps.

I can do this!  You can do this!

I’m so glad my PT has been going well that I’m able to start this program over again!
It took me a minute to come back...
I thought I was a failure when I started and couldn’t finish, but what I learned was this made me stronger!
I was able to heal and put in the mindset I needed to come back stronger!

Creamy, rich roasted red pepper 🌶 hummus! 
Double tap the 💜if you love hummus like I do ☺️ and don’t forget to save it for later 😉

This deliciously colourful hummus is full of flavour and makes a perfect dip…😋😋 I made this spread this week and it was so good that I had to share the recipe with you guys… 💁🏻‍♀️
This is perfect with some veggie sticks, crackers or on the side of a meal… 🥕🥗 What you will need: •2 bell peppers seeded and halved.
•1 can chick peas
•3 garlic gloves •1 tbsp olive oil •2 tbsp nutritional yeast
•1.5 tbsp lemon juice
•1/2 tbsp salt, pepper, chilli flakes. (If you don’t like chilli don’t add the chilli flakes) 
Method:

1️⃣Preheat oven to 200 c / 400 fan forced.

2️⃣Place peppers on a paper-lined baking sheet and roast for 20-25 mins, until peppers are fragrant and skin has charred.

3️⃣Allow peppers to cool before peeling off the charred skin.

4️⃣In a food processor or blender add roasted peppers, chickpeas, garlic, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, salt, pepper and chilli flakes. Blend till smooth.

5️⃣While blending add in the olive oil until hummus is creamy and smooth.

Garnish with some bell peppers 🌶 or parsley 🌱 and enjoy…

Happiness  B L O O M S  from within🌷🌻🌹 Got my onions, peppers, tomatoes, and strawberries started a few weeks ago. Now on to flowers!

My grandma had beautiful flowers when she lived on the farm back in the day. I have neglected the flower beds in the last 5 years...😬 On a mission to change that this year!

I'm hoping my calendula come in hot so I can harvest the petals and use them in goat's milk soap next spring. It's the small steps to self sufficiency that matter.

♥️ This sweet thing. ♥️ A tiny 7 week old little lady who caused me to shift my thinking and outlook on life. I made the decision while in the hospital that I was going to make choices for myself that would benefit her and her big brother. Choices that would enable me to be the best version of myself to stick around a little longer.

HEALTHY 🥑 Boy have I learned this lesson HARD! As a “young’un” I could practically eat what I want - I was so active I burned off any excess and just went through the usual hormonal skin changes any normal teen did. However, insert adulthood - stress, less exercise and looking for any way to cut corners and insert convenience. That resulted in an extra 100lbs to carry around and being on a path to mass destruction physically, mentally and spiritually. October last year I decided to find me again. Much of this wellness path has led me to learning more about nutrition than ever - more than when I was a personal trainer and I coached people on what to eat! Shocking. Macros, micros, water and supplements < all necessary these days for a healthy you! Why? Basically it comes down to how #dirtpoor we are. Want to learn alongside me? ~ Wishing you guys a good Monday to kick off your week! This week I'm having my surgery to fix whatever is causing the issues on my finger joint. But guess what, I'm managing the pain without any pain meds! Also had 2 people notice my weightloss this weekend! One was a friend from highschool that said I look like I did back then, & the other asked me if I'm still losing weight because I look smaller everytime he sees me! Made my weekend! I love CBD, changed my whole life!!! 💖🌱💖

This post is about pickles! Specifically spicy kind! My favorite is a spicy kind! Up until recently,  they've been tricky to find without added sugar.  Here's some finds from walmart.  I bought the first 2 pictures and love 'em! I know with names like mango and maple,  sugar's probably a given,  but still interesting to see. The tabasco one def caught my eye at 1 carb, but high fructose corn syrup? Lame! I don't care for sweet pickles,  but if you do, I came across one sweetened with sucralose.  My other favorite hot variety is Kroger brand.  I've been to several grocery stores and there's no spicy pickle option for me! Who knew they'd be so far and few between!?!

Bangkok Cafe in Ferndale 🤤. Tiny little mom and pop place with no frills (at all). This was absolutely delicious. Everything was savory, and well balanced with complex, layered flavors. The food here was very savory and packed a punch. I ordered Thai curry, pad Thai, two soups (Tom kha guy and Tom yam guy) and rice paper spring rolls. 
Thai food has some of the most flavorful and complex tasting dishes. I love how well balanced and layered it is. If you like some Asian or south asian flavors already and have a penchant for savory, salty, spicy and sour especially, you will like Thai food! 
P.s. 🧀Baked Parmesan Tomatoes🍅

4 cups tomatoes
¼ cup parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon oregano
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
4 teaspoons olive oil

Directions: 
Preheat oven to 450° F. Place tomatoes cut-side up on a baking sheet. Top with Parmesan, oregano, salt, and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and bake until the tomatoes are tender about 15 minutes.

It was a glorious leg day today. I was really pumped because today is my sober birthday! Question: when you see a beautiful photo of food, what thoughts go through your head?
-Oh i can’t have that, probably way too many carbs.
-There’s no way she’s actually eating that and still looks good - what a fraud.
That looks delicious so there’s no way it’s healthy.

Question: when you see a beautiful photo of food, what thoughts go through your head? -Oh i can’t have that, probably way too many carbs. -There’s no way she’s actually eating that and still looks good - what a fraud. That looks delicious so there’s no way it’s healthy. -I wish i had [time / money] to eat like that. Depending how you answered that says a lot about your relationship with food. Understanding the way you think about and look at food is REALLY important if you want to improve your relationship with it. Whether you’re trying to get out of a binge eating habit or using food as fuel to reach your physical goals, understanding your relationship with it is KEY! This picture has serious meaning. And...it’s embarrassing 🙈
At Busch Gardens, there is a ride called Oscars Wiggly Worm. And there is a lap bar that comes down and clicks. And the last time I got on this ride - summer 2016, it didn’t click. To the point where the attendant almost kicked me off but had mercy on me and told me to hold it down. I was mortified. I was too fat to ride a ride with my kids and so since 2016 I have not gotten back on...until today. And I am not going to lie I was nervous it wouldn’t close. What if it didn’t?! But I am happy to say we rode the ride twice, different rows, and it closed EASILY!!! That is the best NSV ever 🎉🎉🎉

I been going to the gym for the last 6 weeks. My goal was to loose 20 lbs. I didn’t make it. I only lost 13. But I’m not sad, I lost 10.75 inches and 4.75 was in my booty!! That’s amazing. I won’t feel sad. #wwjourney #ww #weightwatchers #icanchange #ifeelgood #2019ismyyear #healthjourney

Repost: My progress! 🙏🏼 Very thankful. Pretty much all about one month apart! From and XL to a M. 25 pounds down. 2 pant sizes down. 
I feel better than I have in a VERY long time. 
I’m not done with my journey yet but I am very happy with where I am at and how healthy I feel inside and out. ✨

I just want to get one thing clear. I am with this health & wellness company because I see and feel what it has done for me in my life and I want to help others in their health journeys as well. 
I don’t do it for the 30-40$ (yes that is about what I make when someone gets the basic program). I do it for the text messages and the calls I get where they say: “Thank you for reaching out to me. Thank you for helping me get my health and happy back.” That is what makes my heart sing. That it was makes me happy. That is what brings me joy. To know that another life has been changed. To know that they are feeling better and are healthier than they have been in a really long time. To know that they will no longer be living day to day thinking that this is what life is like. No. I’m in it because I care. 
This message was written from the heart. 💕
