As a kid, although I was VERY mischievous and rebellious, I always knew I was destined for greatness. My teachers never doubted me or told me I wouldn’t be anything .... instead they pushed me to excel all throughout grade school, hence me being on the honor roll almost every marking period. Fast forward though, in no time I was rolling up to DSU, ready for a good time Delaware State University gave me so much more than just fun. It gave me a second home, stability, lessons in and out the classroom, networking opportunities, enlightening events, and the chance to meet amazing people... from my professors, the workers around campus, my amazing chairperson (y’all know I love Dr.Scott-Jones), classmates, associates, and my small amazing group of friends back in 2015 upon arrival at DSU, I was a wild ass 18 year old ready to smack whoever. I didn’t give a f*ck about anything but maintaining good grades and getting lit which I was in fact successful in, ending my freshman year with a 3.4.... it took for me change my major and get out kicked out of school for a semester to realize it was time for a new approach. When I returned to school it was up from there for me, I’m the epitome of RESILIENCE!!!! I’ve lost “friends”, made new ones...lifelong ones. I became more involved on campus, gained some mentees, participated in events I could’ve never imagined, traveled more, had enough fun for 20 people to say the least It was plenty L’s involved, some most couldn’t begin to understand.... but it’s crazy what a strong, determined mindset and an even stronger support system does for you.
Thank you DSU for allowing me GROW. I’m leaving 100 times more humble, mature, and level-headed.
Here I am today, a WOMAN with her B.S. in Psychology!🏾♀️(Big s/o to my major, this was impossible without y’all!) #ForMotivationalUseOnly
