Chandre Crawford, the founder of The Athlete's Circle, always wanted to touch the lives of others. She studied Physical Education with a K-12 Teacher License concentration during her undergraduate career at North Carolina Central University (2017). Just recently, she obtained her Master's in Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Sports Management from North Carolina State University (2019). As a child, she was always involved in sports which allowed her to meet so many people from so many different places. During her senior year of college, she lost two friends to the system and two friends to gun violence. These young men played sports and were not lucky enough to take advantage of the opportunities given to them or were not heavily recruited to be able to make it to the next level. In honor of her friends, she hopes to change the sports culture and help build athletes for the next level. We all have different paths in life but the "streets", jail or death should not be expected especially before the age of 25.
The Athlete's Circle is an organization trying to change athlete's outlook on life after High School. The purpose of The Athlete's Circle is to provide many post-secondary opportunities for student-athletes, create a safe place to network between players, coaches, athletic trainers and other careers affiliated with athletics, and possibly become a youth mentoring group for student-athletes. She hopes to use this platform as a movement in all communities but beginning at home, Charlotte, North Carolina. Players from all sports and levels will be represented through this organization to help connect each other and make the process easier for those growing up.
Chandre is trying to raise money to help The Athlete's Circle become a recognized non-profit organization to help with sponsors and future events that she has begun planning for.
All proceeds will go to the funding of creating The Athlete's Circle as a recognized non-profit organization.
