Training for aesthetics has been getting a pretty bad rap lately. The anti-diet diet culture is all about health at every size, (and that is 100% okay with me) and there’s a lot of content (including mine) that tells you that there are so many other reasons to exercise (that aren’t related to fat loss or what your body looks like) 💪🏼
Does this mean that you shouldn’t train for aesthetic reasons?

People like to take pride in their appearance. People wear make up, nice clothes, get their hair done, because it makes them feel good, feel confident and some people enjoy fashion/make up/hairstyling. Just like some people enjoy exercise because it makes them feel confident because of how their body looks. And that is okay too

Pro tips? Strive for something that is achievable for YOUR BODY TYPE and find other, non aesthetic reasons why you love to work out. .

“ How to build bulk correctly” by @stepstoahealthieryou 
1. Slight calorie surplus. 
The reason you should do a calorie surplus is because when you gain weight too quickly it will turn to fat. Yes when you do bulk you will gain a little bit of fat, but if your eating fast food all time it will hurt you more than help.

2. Keeping track of macros. 
You need to keep track of your macros because your body will be missing out on the nutrition it needs to build muscle. I guarantee you don’t take care of your macros your workouts will suffer!

3. Consistently training

This is kind of obvious but when you don’t workout consistently you won’t be gaining muscle just fat. So do yourself a favor be consistent!

4. Progressive overload

You need to keep reaching new levels to keep getting stronger. You can add more weight, more reps, more sets just keep moving!

If you’ve DM’d me before asking for advice, have you actually put it into practice? 🧐 A lot of us reach out to ask for help which is great because it’s halfway to changing something or getting better at something. But how many of you are following through with that advice and TAKING ACTION. How many of you have changed your diet, implemented a better training split, used that new exercise, gone and done that food shop? Look, it’s not easy. I’ve been there and it took work. If it was, everyone will be huge, ripped and shredded with a great physique. However, if you want something to change about you or your body, then you have to take action. You have to practice the advice. This isn’t about me or anyone you’re asking for help. It’s about that second half of the process of you making a change - taking action! If you don’t ask, you don’t get - but once you get make sure you also apply!

That little arch really helps keep stress off the shoulders & helps with keeping the bar in ur power zone when benching, bar stability is very Important when benching, preventing a load of potential injuries from happening 🤙🏾

1. Making sure your calories are on point! Alright the thing is calories give your body energy to keep all your organs going. Take in too much calories you gain fat, take to little your body goes into starvation mode. That’s why you need to get the right amount for your goals and not put yourself in a bad situation.

2. Lifting frequency. Personally I like lifting 5-6 times a week because I can hit all the muscles at least twice a week. Lifting 3x is okay if your doing full body!

3. Get enough protein! Protein is the building blocks for muscle development. You tear your muscles when you left, so the time you grow your muscle is during periods, protein helps to repair and make your muscles stronger than before!

4. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep. You need enough sleep to build your muscles correctly. If you don’t have proper sleep your muscle development will suffer so do yourself a favor and sleep right!

I love working out on Saturdays. Today I focused on back, arms, shoulders, and chest, so a pretty good upper body workout. I see some improvements overall, but I would really like to have a good workout for each muscle group listed individually.
