Some days you just want chips with lunch...like when it’s an open faced sandwich kind of day ( thank you @swapples ) .

Growing up we had chips with most of our meals so it was basically a food group to me 😂 I married a guy who is a major chip fanatic as well- so clearly a match made in Heaven 🥰😍

However...most chip brands are not allowed in our home since we started the @medicalmedium Lifestyle several years ago because they contain canola or vegetable oil. .
So thankful we didn’t have to completely give up our chip habit - it’s the small things in life right?!😁 .

Today I was kindly invited to the @ryvitauk fibre event AND WE ALL LEARNT SO MUCH👏🏼.

I urge you to follow @bowelbabe and listen to her story🙏🏼. What an amazing human. She has bowel cancer and actually found blood intermittently in her poo poo for 6 months before seeing a GP!  She also mentioned how so many people are embarrassed to talk to a Dr about POO. BUT PLEASE GO AND SEE YOUR GP IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU😳!

We also learnt how incredibly important fibre is in our diet from @theguthealthdoctor and a few things for you guys to note is; 👉🏼(1) We should try and eat about 30g of fibre each day,👉🏼 (2) 1 in 2 of us will get cancer but preventative measures with regards to diet and fibre may reduce the risk, 👉🏼(3) Fibre feeds the bacteria in our gut and a happy gut = happy human! There was so much that we learnt today SO MUCH.

Last night was a rough one..⁣
⁣
Two year molars + I think a bad dream had Ember up at midnight sobbing, and I was having a hard time calming her back down.⁣
⁣
Within a minute of using her Vetiver + Lavender roller she was soothed and then soon drifted back to sleep.🖤⁣
⁣
I’m so thankful for these oils and all the little (and big) things that they support!

Really fancied loads of carbs tonight so I made homemade Low FODMAP pizza! 🍽 I used the @scharglutenfreeuk pizza base to which I added ▪️tomato purée, ▪️olive oil, ▪️mixed herbs, ▪️Tabasco, then ▪️oat smoked ham, ▪️chopped red peppers and ▪️Mayo as cheese. Pizza is always a good idea! Only had to chop the ham and pepper, put it all together then oven bake for 15min #easypeasy #lowfodmapfriendly #nocheese #pizza! 😋

Starting today off with a well balanced meal. I don’t know about you but when it gets warm I don’t feel like cooking first thing in morning. This combo is light and quick. 
Scrambled eggs with ham topped with red pepper flakes, 1/4 avocado, and 1/2 banana with blueberries. 
Planning on having a cup of bone broth in a few hours.

This delicious drink helps fight bloating and inflammation! It's also extremely refreshing. I love to drink this right after a good workout 💪 
2 cups of filtered water
1 grapefruit
1  lemon
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
A pinch of Celtic sea salt 
Blend all the ingredients in a high speed mixer.
Pour the mixture into a cup through a strainer and enjoy!

¿Qué se te pasa por la cabeza cuando lees esto? Déjame que comparta hoy contigo una reflexión...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Supongo que ya sabrás que en nuestro organismo, tenemos unos potentes mecanismos biológicos que disparan el hambre cuando nuestro cuerpo no está recibiendo la suficiente energía que necesita. Y es que la comida y la energía que ésta nos da, son esenciales para la supervivencia del ser humano.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Visto así, tiene sentido cuándo hablamos de que el mecanismo del hambre es realmente una verdadera conexión entre nuestro cuerpo y nuestra mente. Y la alimentación es tan importante que las células nerviosas encargadas de gestionar nuestro apetito se encuentran localizadas en la zona del hipotálamo, en nuestro cerebro. Una región importantísima porque es desde dónde surgen importantes procesos metabólicos y hormonales. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Entendido esto, ¿sigues pensando que el HAMBRE es algo que debes controlar y que está íntimamente ligado a TU FUERZA DE VOLUNTAD? OMG look at this progress!!! After all of the parasites and setbacks- The first plate of food vs. a bowl of soup in my feed for AWHILE.  Roasted Rib Steak, Asparagus, and Homemade Sauerkraut. And of course, I would NEVER forget my mug of my own gut-healing meat stock on the side. Haha😅⁣

As much as I love what eating GAPS Intro soup for the last 3 months has done for my body, I was SO EXCITED to cook a meal in the oven. ⁣

NO BAKE Protein ball recipe ft. Calluses 🤷🏼‍♀️

2️⃣1 cup almond or peanut butter (I used peanut)
3️⃣1/4th cup honey or agave 
4️⃣2 scoops protein powder 
5️⃣2 tbsp chocolate chips .
Roll them up & place in freezer for 3 hours then eat them all like I did 🙃

3️⃣ Reasons I find when Plexus just "doesn't work"... 🤔
 1. Lack of true motivation 💪, drive, and patience. You have to trust the process and talk🗣️with your sponsor(person who is helping you). 2. Not drinking the amount of water💦 needed. It is extremely crucial for success 🏆. Flush those toxins out!!!
3. Not taking the products consistently 😕. If I expect all over body transformation at the gym, I gotta work at it right? Same deal here. (Think about what happens if not consistent with birth control 👶🏼) It's not a quick fix like medication where you get the instantaneous relief because meds (for the most part) only suppress key bodily functions and its symptoms. 👎😠 Plexus is 🌿 natural. Keto Diet. I am loving this new way of eating for myself. I climbed aboard for gut health and brain health. There's a very much liked side effect of weightloss.
Look at all these great foods. 
It's alot easier than I though it was gonna be. Condiments are a big thing (most gave sugar in them) and I carry my pink salt with me and swerve or monkfruit. Then I'm golden!
I have found Thrive market carries alot of keto friendly condiments, snacks, and small necessities. 
Been going strong for over a month. No complaints here.
I even found a bakery that caters to keto!😋😋
Anyone else doing any special diets for their health? AIP, Paleo, Whole 30 etc? How's it going? Feeling the benefits yet?

👩‍💻Low FODMAP diet was created for those suffering with IBS to help relieve their long term symptoms. It’s based on reducing foods in the diet that contain specific sugars, which our gut might not be dealing with well and therefore they can cause digestive issues. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤓 IBS can have so many underlying triggers which need to be addressed first but for those who have been struggling for a long time and nothing seems to be working - low FODMAP diet may help. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👩‍💻Whilst you are working through the different stages of the diet with a healthcare professional, this allows them time to work on healing your gut. 👍 This is essential for the reintroduction stage so that your body is better able to tolerate the foods high in FODMAPs.

Easy omelette, one of the most versatile meals which can be eaten breakfast / lunch or dinner.

I think omelettes were one of the first meals i learnt to cook. They are great at using whatever you have in fridge or cupboards and combining in eggs to make a glorious meal.
I used what I had in my fridge and this turned out 15 minutes later. It really takes no time at all.

Feel free to reduce an egg to lower calorie intake or add one more for more calories
Protein 30 Carbs 25 Fat 35
Time 15 mins
Serves 1

Ingredients:
1/2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Handful of kale or other dark greens
Red pepper
Small handful of tomatoes
Spring onion
4 organic pasture raised eggs
Fresh basil + sea salt  to serve

Recipe:
1. Heat a wide saucepan on medium heat. Add the oil.
2. Finely slice the red pepper then add to pan. Cook until softened
3. Tear the kale and add to the pan until wilted 2-3 mins.
4. Add the eggs to a bowl and whisk.
5. Add the eggs, mix with the veggies and make sure the egg is distributed evenly.
6. Cook for 4 mins until sides set and the top is 75% cooked through.
7. Either cover with a lid to finish the top off or place under a medium grill for 2 mins or just fold over for the traditional omelette. I prefer the grill recreating a pizza like finish.
8. Remove, mash the avocado, slice the tomatoes, add the basil and sea salt. Serve 👌🏻🔥

Spring has arrived 🤗 and this seasons wellness essentials for me are all looking rather bright ☀️ A little healthy lineup of some of my fave things I’m using at the moment to stay tip-top 🕺 starting with the golden goddess herself - turmeric - of which I’m drinking plenty of @pukkaherbs turmeric gold tea as it’s great for your skin to protect from pollution & UVA/UVB damage. As well as a natural anti inflammatory to help to ease the sneeze when the pollen count is high 🤥 I’m also popping the turmeric brainwave supplements to keep my mind focussed & sharp - watch out world I’m ready!! 🤣The @ukrenewlife fibre plus powder - as I’ve realised no matter how many recipes or protein powders I try, my smoothies NEVER ever keep me full, so this stuff is magnificent to keep me from feeling as hungry & blood sugar more balanced, as well as it having lots of good natural gut-friendly ingredients to keep your digestive system healthy.  And my newest and most favourite find of late @nutritionistsblend fasting blend. I’ve been doing a lot of research into the benefits of intermittent fasting and the benefits of leaving a longer period of time in between eating meals, and so far all I’m reading is looking like it makes a lot of sense to skip a few more hours without a load of food.  I’m most often a serial snacker and love grazing, but this has given me a way of allowing myself to have a bigger fasting window in between meal times - especially lunch and dinner or breakfast & lunch. This is especially beneficial when I’m out & about and can’t get the sort of food I’d want to eat, until I get home/somewhere with good food. As well as a natural anti inflammatory to help to ease the sneeze when the pollen count is high 🤥 I’m also popping the turmeric brainwave supplements to keep my mind focussed & sharp - watch out world I’m ready!! 🤣The @ukrenewlife fibre plus powder - as I’ve realised no matter how many recipes or protein powders I try, my smoothies NEVER ever keep me full, so this stuff is magnificent to keep me from feeling as hungry & blood sugar more balanced, as well as it having lots of good natural gut-friendly ingredients to keep your digestive system healthy. And my newest and most favourite find of late @nutritionistsblend fasting blend. I’ve been doing a lot of research into the benefits of intermittent fasting and the benefits of leaving a longer period of time in between eating meals, and so far all I’m reading is looking like it makes a lot of sense to skip a few more hours without a load of food. I’m most often a serial snacker and love grazing, but this has given me a way of allowing myself to have a bigger fasting window in between meal times - especially lunch and dinner or breakfast & lunch. This is especially beneficial when I’m out & about and can’t get the sort of food I’d want to eat, until I get home/somewhere with good food. There are so many different forms of stress there and sometimes you may not even know your body is going through stress.

Why is stress an important foundation to our health?

Stress can cause great harm to our immune system and put a lot of pressure on our organs/body systems.

If we are constantly under stress or experience moments of stress, we are most likely to have a poor sleep (our first foundation).

The key point I want to talk about is how stress affects our digestion.

When we are stressed, our body’s nutrients are used more rapidly to meet the needs of metabolism. Digestion of food is the last of the body’s worry when under stress.

Digestive juices that help breakdown food will no longer be secreted. In addition, the hormones and/or chemicals released during stress can interfere with digestion.

There will in an imbalance in the gut of flora and in turn, cause gastrointestinal related issues. For example, constipation, IBS, bloating, and etc.

This is where stress management comes into play!
