2019 Porsche 911 Speedster has made an appearance in New York with two production-spec Speedsters shown at the @nyautoshow. The low-cut front windshield and side windows as well as two streamliners atop the rear ’double bubble’ carbon fiber decklid and fabric top are design highlights associated with the previous Speedster generations.
The first car in Guards Red paint color features the 20-inch GT3 center-lock wheels painted in satin black with wheel rim painted in Guards Red, the standard black leather interior supplemented with red stitching, the GT Sport steering wheel decorated with a red 12 o’clock marker, the carbon door sill guards and the ’Speedster’ designation in the headrests.
The second Speedster features the optional Heritage Design Package that is exclusively available in conjunction with GT Silver Metallic paint. The front bumper and front fender ’arrows’ are painted in white as well as the 356-model-inspired graphics on the hood and the doors and historical ’Porsche’ decals along the sides of the car. The wheels are painted in Platinum Satin and can also be ordered in Silver. The PCCB calipers are painted in black and feature white ’Porsche’ lettering. ’Speedster’ model designations in Gold at the rear and the sides underscore the exclusivity of the Package. The Heritage Pack Speedster features a two-tone leather interior in Black and Cognac. The full bucket seats with the backs in the exterior color are upholstered in Cognac leather and decorated with a historic Porsche crest embossment in the headrests.
All Speedsters are powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that is also used in the current GT3 and GT3 RS models and are available exclusively with a GT Sport 6-speed manual transmission.
I expected they would refuse the concept side mirrors and the fuel cap location in the center of the trunk lid, and I can understand why. But, at least, they could have left those beautiful five-spoke concept wheels. - 10 minutes ago
