The story sounds really crazy. I mean, we all know dead people typically stay dead. But if this is just a lie, a well-told story, a smuggled body, the biggest con in history, why did the inventors of this con use women as the first witnesses to see Jesus alive, in an era when women weren't even allowed testify in court (they were thought to be too emotional so the law said they couldn't be trusted)? And why did so many of the 'eye-witnesses' (who claimed to see Jesus after these women) choose to be martyred for what they would have known was a lie, instead of admitting the 'truth' as their executioners desired them too? Why did faithful Jews suddenly change their religion and start telling everyone who would listen this 'good news' about Jesus being the Messiah? And why didn't the jealous religious Jewish rulers just produce the well-guarded dead body, and put an end to the spread of this new following of Jesus that they hated so much? It's a crazy story, but if you decide you think it is true, it will change your life.
On another note, I took this photo while hiking Old Rag Mountain last weekend with my amazing 8th graders! I've lost count of how many times I've done this hike but at least a dozen at this point. We had such a blast and the weather couldn't have been more perfect #oldragmountain #blueskydays #girlswhohike #gooutside #staythere #keeplearning #staycurious #nevergrowup - 5 days ago
