Pakaravoor Manakkal Chithran Namboothirippa maybe entering the 100th year of his life, but that hasn't stopped this man who is young at heart , to plan to set out on his 30th trek to the Himalayas this October, leading a pilgrim group.
Born in 1920, this 99-year-old is full of life, with a sharp memory that focusses on minute details from the past century, from holding an economics degree from Madras, being a student activist and later on becoming the Joint Director of the Department of Education, at Thiruvananthapuram in 1975. He even established a high school in Chennai in 1947 and after running it for 10 years, gifted it to the government for a token amount of ₹1. Mr. Namboothirippa considers this moment to be the proudest in his life. He retired in 1978 and 15 years later, in 1991 he set out for the Himalayas. 🏔️
The secret for his longevity? A staple diet filled with Idlis, Dosas, coffee along with Exercise for half an hour everyday.🥥 We wish him all the very best for his 30th trek this year. ️
