SOCIAL MEDIA BALANCE: I often found myself picking up my phone and opening social media apps unconsciously. Sometimes I would be doing it without noticing during lunch, with friends, or in school. Every message, comment, or update would trigger me to open my phone.
After a few months, I noticed it was out of control and I needed to do something about this bad habit. I decided to make small changes: Turning off my notifications allowed me to learn the importance of not needing to see everything instantly and it became a game changer! I also decided to give myself a maximum of 10-15 minutes in the morning, afternoon and at night to post, reply, comment, and interact. Instead of sitting around the house for an hour on my phone, I decided to pick up books, listen to podcasts, or just relax with some good company.
As a society, we are on our phones almost everywhere we go, often times at the store, waiting in lines, at home with company, at restaurants and anywhere you can think of. After taking a few weeks off, I found myself being more productive and less lazy. If you find yourself spending too much time on social media, I suggest making changes. I realized you’re not going to miss out on anything important. Plus you wont miss any memes, you’ll see the good memes in your inbox when you log back in ;) - 13 days ago
