•She stood in the mirror, naked.
She traced every scar, every stretch mark, every inch;
She grabbed every fold, every
roll, every inch.
She admired every curve & gap,
every zit & hair, every inch.
It was her own & it was unique.
She smiled, kissed the scar on her wrist & hugged herself
tight. "I love you", she whispered,
"You're my best friend". Silence.
She stood in the mirror, naked.
Tears filled her eyes & her
voice cracked but on she went,
"I'm sorry I was so mean to you,
I'm sorry I didn't love you enough". More silence, the regret she had voiced fell into a void of deaf ears.
She sighed, wiped her tears
& hugged herself tighter, "Can
you ever forgive me?", she croaked.
"Yes", replied her body, "With time & love. I have always loved you,
now it's time for you to love me back. Love me by loving yourself".•
° this is my poem about self love; self love is the most important kind of love and I want you to love your body as much as it loves you; your body is unique and it is your choice, nobody is obligated to your body or your time and attention; your body is a temple, worship it how you like; just love yourself and you're set; you are alive because of your body and it is alive because of you, your body is your best friend.° 🖤❣️🖤 - 5 hours ago
