Feeling blue day three update. I feel a million times better today! I'm not sure if it was the sleep right through the night, the sweaty gym session or that I just rode it out. To be honest it's probably a combination of the three. Thinking back I've been in a bit if a funk for well over a week now and as part of learning how to deal with this condition is how to deal with the ups and downs. But the sun is shining, it's nearly the end of the week and its nearly payday!

It's amazing what different lighting and where you are in your stride does for your legs! On the right I am finishing, soft evening light, left was around mid day coming in at base camp.

Of course I only think of my legs looking how they do in the right hand picture. And quad cellulite is a bit of a running theme 🤣 because until I started racing I didn't realise it was a thing! (I've also realised I've just posted alot of pictures of myself which makes me feel like a narcissist)

Final breakfast here this morning, but I’m really not sure I’m ready to head back. It’s been wonderful stepping out and it’s been just the reset I needed. The weather has been gorgeous ☀️, we’ve spent long days on the beach and long evenings chatting into the night, we’ve slept in late every day, and we’ve eaten plenty of delicious food. A BIG win in my books as this would not have been possible not so long ago, so never give up. 
Deets 🥣: three crushed weetabix mixed with flaxseed + chia (from the UK 🙃), ground ginger + soya milk, left to thicken for few mins, then topped with a flat peach, mango + thick full fat Greek yoghurt. #mylifeisforliving

Here I'm doing some glutes workout. Keeping my back straight and squeezing that glute, love this one you could just feel the burn 👌😉. Buns of steel baby coming through, see ya. Wouldnt want to be ya ...... Glutes is my favorite muscle to workout, getting that muscle pump after glute day feels like heaven.

MARIZPAN CHOC OATS 🤩🤩 Brekkie from yesterday morning was honestly amazingggg🤤 I did my normal chocolate chia oats but added @myproteinuk marizpan drops and also some almond extract and it was BEAUT 🥳

Left: August 2018, starting (again) on a weight loss journey. The shirt fit, but it was snug and stretched out when I wore it. I remember being delighted it even fit, an XL from Wish.
Right: Yesterday (June 2019), over 6 months into my longest stint of weight loss journey yet with no signs of stopping. My shirt’s now baggy and fits way better without a stretch, and you can see a visible difference in my face, waist and how the shirt sits. .
Own your own goals. It doesn’t matter that this has taken me nearly a year; it’s a marathon not a sprint and your journey will take you as long as it needs to. .
Don’t worry, I’m not slowing down any time soon. .

I’ve been asked a few times post photoshoot if I will be stopping tracking macros and laying off the gym. But I never got into the gym and tracking macros just to do a photoshoot two years ago. The gym for me is more than just exercise, it allows me to constantly challenge myself by trying to lift more weight each session. Moving my body makes me feel better than if I didn’t go and the improvements in my mental health is amazing. -

I do plan to keep up so form of tracking in the short term but will hopefully transition into my intuitive eating when my hungry is more balance. Am I worried about gaining weight? No I am more than the scale weight and to continue to improve in the gym some weight gain is necessary. Just because photoshoot is over we still out here working on the next goals 💪🏻🍑 -

Combined two of my favourite breakfast ingredients toast/bagel and eggs for a quick recipe idea. This makes a simple quick breakfast and can be made in advanced to be eaten at the office. . .
See below how to make a delicious and quick egg filled toast. .
🛒YOU’LL NEED
.
✔️1-2 slices of toast/ 1 bagel ✔️2 eggs
✔️Pepper and kallø bouillon to season
✔️basil and salad onions
.
RECIPE 👩🏼‍🍳
.
1️⃣ Create a hole within the toast/bagel or egg by using a cup
.
2️⃣ Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to a pan and add the toast to cook .
3️⃣ Add basil, pepper and kallø to season. .
4️⃣Add one egg each to the toast/bagel.
.
5️⃣Serve with salad onions and basil. Enjoy! ✅ Delicious

Physical health is without a doubt important, we can strengthen our bones, joints and muscles with resistance training and improve our cardiovascular health with running, cycling and walking etc. Most people I know now participate in some form of physical activity to improve their fitness. But what about our mental health? .

We are usually more likely to prioritise our physical fitness, work week and social life over our mental wellbeing. I guess we prioritise physical health because the reward is more visible and it's simpler to work on, we are also far more likely to discuss that 6am spin class we beasted ourselves through then to talk about the time we took 10 minutes to sit down, slow down and become a little more mindful of our thoughts.

Back and feeling like a ninja 🦹‍♀️
Ok so I might have snoozed my alarm slightly because its my day off but I still got up and felt good enough to smash workout 5 of cycle 3 of #90dayplan 😁
The upper body and lower body splits felt great and the 10 minute HIIT in the middle really got my blood pumping! 
It might not have been my best workout ever but I'll take 193 calories burnt before breakfast 😁👌

Some days you just get home and want to cuddle up in a blanket with some hearty food, ya feel?
I don’t always want to cook up dinner from scratch (although most the time I LOVE cooking), & on those days a good packet of chilli Mac & Cheez is all I need. Add some mushrooms 🍄 to get in some veg and that’s all I need heheh.
The serving size may have suggested I ate enough for four people, but in my opinion this is completely wrong 🤣

Motivation and self-esteem levels are low. Lower than they've been in quite a while. My weight is up a small bit, my diet is to blame, I'm tired and stressed and overall not feeling the greatest.

But I've been here before, I've been lower than this, so I smile, I climb out of bed and I get up and do what I have to do. I gym, I laugh, I work, I survive. We all do.

It's OK to have a bad day or a bad week. Reach out  to people, ask for support, cry if you need to.

Be you, do you. Stay with it, trust the process and before you know it you'll be feeling better, happier and healthier.

Another day, another mornings hard work put in at the gym. So glad to be back into a routine with everything. It’s amazing what a few days consistency can do for the mind!

Last Thursday I embarked on something a little different and climbed an ice wall ... in the middle of Manchester city centre ... in a shop. @ellisbrigham in Deansgate to be exact. 
It was so much fun 😊 honestly never done anything like it and didnt really know what to expect but as you can see from the pictures to the right it was the real deal.

I'm not going to lie I was scared at the top but the adrenalin was there to keep me going, well and truly pushed out of my comfort zone but totally worth it! It's these sort of things I love doing and I find a test of my fitness levels, to see how my body can cope in different situations. Just need to plan the next one now.

The basics aren’t; only eat from a strict list of foods, at strict times, chasing a pump & fasted cardio - those things are often unnecessary restrictions that sometimes aid but mainly often adherence (having a woman with a lower calorie demand eat 6-8 meals per day - every 2-3 hrs - means real small meals which could negatively impact hunger OR they’ll be bigger meals which will undoubtedly hinder weight loss).

👉🏻 Hit your calorie and macro targets (whether that’s just protein or protein/carb/fat) day in day out, in a way that’s manageable and helps performance as much as is practical. But do it REGARDLESS of the situation - that’s the tough part. :
👉🏻 Train and progress your training with some structure and adequate volume per muscle group/intensity, not just mindlessly winging it each day but going hard or hokwhen you do (misdirected effort can be seriously useless effort). :
👉🏻 Ensuring your lifestyle is set up to prioritise stress management and sleep quality/duration (this’ll be mad-different from one person to the other as both goals, jobs, family n that vary wildly)

👉🏻 Planning ahead. Knowing where most meals are coming from, when training’s fitting in, how you’re managing life stuff.

I had a great time last night at the panel talk hosted by @bryonyehopkins at @crusshjuicebars (with their head of food @kidders88 and @thefoodeffectdr on the panel) and they raised the question about whether you eat for a purpose.

I think often we are consumed by eating foods for weight purposes but rarely with our body health, mental health of lifestyle taken into account. Taking into account these factors might lead to better choices to optimise health wealth.

Mid lunge. That was hard this morning!!! KB swing, clean, squat, press and lunge- all one handed 😬 lush full body workout and I feel bloody amazing after it. Fat-phobia is just that, a fear of being fat. This fear isn’t rational, it’s learned, society has taught us that the only way to progress, to succeed and to be loved it to be smaller. 
The barrage of magazines preaching weight loss tips, crash diets or secrets to “looking like her” are a big part of the problem. We are conditioned to not believe everything we read in the paper, but as soon as a glossy magazine comes along with “health” in the title and a glossy image on the front cover, we take it as gospel. 
Consider this conversation between you and your bigger bodied friend: 
You: “I need to go on a diet, I look awful”
Your bigger bodied friend: *she wants to go on a diet so she doesn’t look like me*

We all have moments of fat-phobia, we have all passed judgement albeit subconsciously. That is what society has taught us to do. 
So how do we stop it? We call it out. We catch ourselves. We get educated. We shout about it.

Yesterday evening I went to the gym for the first time in 2 weeks. Two full weeks without setting foot in my normal gym and two full weeks since training in my usual strength-focused way.

I had a check-in message earlier this week from my coach and I immediately felt guilty. I found myself apologising for having those two weeks off and having nothing to report. Apologising for other things having taken priority.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Her response? “That’s okay, it’s life.” 🤯
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And y’know what - she’s SO right 🙌🏼 I talk the talk around #balance and #intuitivemovement, but even I can sometimes forget my own message 🙉 Hearing those words “it’s life” just threw everything back into perspective 👏🏼

Stressing and worrying about not making it to the gym, or completing all of your programmes sessions during the week, *that* will do more harm and damage than actually missing those sessions ever could.

What better way to start your vacation then smashing some legs!
It felt great to be back in the gym and this time without worrying about time or whatever. Just headphones in and getting in the zone (who also has a resting bitch-face in the gym? 🙃)
Now that I have the time off I really want to focus on destressing my body and letting it recover from all the stress and anxiety these past few months.
My IBS has been all over the place and my Psoriasis is worse then ever - so now exams are over it's time for project Me! ▪︎Getting my IBS and skin back into control
▪︎Getting my food back on track and eat atleast 2000 kcal a day as it has been all over the place ▪︎Aim for atleast 8.000 steps a day as my legs have had enough "rest" this past year (+ my back and neck are hurting like hell)
▪︎Try and get some Leg gains in the process (my upper body has to chill down a sec 🙃)
▪︎Gym: 2x Legs + 2x Upper/Functional
So far for my update - remember no matter what your goals are in life, you only have one body so make sure to take care of it!

Today I put on my old leggings and not my normal high rise leggings. I didn’t love the way I looked in them even though I normally like my body. I got very discouraged. But I decided to focus on the good. I encourage you to do the same. I often find myself getting caught up in self doubt and negativity... so today let’s focus on the POSITIVE!

Some days a girl wakes up motivated as hell, and it shows when she puts in the work. I was super pumped for push day today and I have been feeling stronger than ever! I wake up at 5am genuinely excited to get to the gym and bust my bootay. Every morning I walk out with two different kinds of pump. Of course, there’s the expected muscle pump, but I also get a confidence pump. Is that a thing? If not, let’s make it one. I really feel pumped that I put in the work to do something hard and have so much energy to take on the day ahead of me. Work hard, smile harder! 😁
