Some of you out there in the world may have a #furbaby who is a #diabetic some of your situations may not be as severe as others but in Tyriel's case he has to have an insulin shot twice a day.
within the last 24 hours as of last night at about 11 p.m. I noticed something wasn't right and he threw up twice. Then when I put him to bed he must have thrown up two more times in the last several hours. Whilst my concern level is about a 3 only because of how far apart each throw up session was I am monitoring it. I did not give him his insulin shot this morning because I believe it if I had his sugar levels would have dropped very low given that he hasn't been able to keep any food down and that could lead him into it diabetic fit or a coma.
I just tested his sugar level about 15 minutes ago and it was a whopping 23.5 which is not good it should be somewhere 6.5 to about 7.5 at the highest. so I just gave him an insulin injection by 3.5 units same as what he normally gets without food been given to him just yet and will check him again and the next 45 minutes to an hour to see if his sugar has dropped. I honestly believe in my experience when he was first diagnosed with diabetes and his sugar was through the roof he just kept throwing up and I believe that is what is happening here that he sugars too high therefore he feels unwell and cats can't keep anything down.
As soon as I get his sugar level down I will give him the tiniest bit of food and then monitor him for the next couple of hours before I go to work. Unfortunately I don't want to leave him but the whole reason why I took a second job was that he could have a better future. #catdad #diabeticcatsofinstagram #diabetes #myson #mylove - 12 minutes ago
