I've got a new rule for running. Everytime my watch beeps another km, another split, another interval, I have to smile. Not just a little smile, a big ear to ear 'I'm grateful to be here' grin. No joke there are times this is easier than others. And for sure I've gotten a few funny looks. But I'm all about being mindful and finding joy in the things we do 😊

Hello My Friends! I have for you tonight delicious 😋 and healthy dinner (spinach tagliatelle with turkey 🦃 meatballs). I made these balls yesterday and tonight I had dinner ready in 10 minutes. These turkey meatballs are easy to make and perfect for dinner any day of the week, also perfect for getting together and as a healthy post workout snack. The secret to these delicious balls are fresh basil 🌿 and fresh parsley 🌿. Follow the below attached recipe and let me know how you did it 👍

Turkey Meatballs Ingredients ▶️1 pound lean ground turkey (use 93% fat) ▶️1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs ▶️1/4 cup chopped onions -- finely chopped ▶️1/2 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese ▶️2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley ▶️2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil ▶️2 teaspoons minced garlic ▶️2 large egg whites -- beaten until frothy ▶️1/2 teaspoon salt ▶️1/2 teaspoon dried oregano ▶️1/2 teaspoon dried basil ▶️1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper ▶️non-stick cooking spray -- olive oil •

▶️In large bowl combine turkey, breadcrumbs (I used Panko), onion, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, beaten egg whites, salt, oregano, basil, and 
pepper. ▶️Mix lightly but thoroughly. ▶️With moistened hands, lightly shape mixture into 1-inch balls. You should have 
about 24 small meatballs ▶️Coat a large non-stick skillet with non-stick spray. Heat over medium-
high heat. Add meatballs, about 8 at a time. Cook, stirring constantly, until 
browned, about 2 to 3 minutes per batch. Re-coat skillet with cooking spray as 
needed. When all meatballs are browned, return them to the skillet. Over medium 
heat, continue to cook, shaking skillet to turn meatballs, about 5 minutes or until 
cooked through. ▶️Serve with your favorite pasta and sauce or eat them plain! Enjoy!

Follow the below attached recipe and let me know how you did it • • Turkey Meatballs Ingredients ️1 pound lean ground turkey (use 93% fat) ️1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs ️1/4 cup chopped onions -- finely chopped ️1/2 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese ️2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley ️2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil ️2 teaspoons minced garlic ️2 large egg whites -- beaten until frothy ️1/2 teaspoon salt ️1/2 teaspoon dried oregano ️1/2 teaspoon dried basil ️1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper ️non-stick cooking spray -- olive oil • • ️In large bowl combine turkey, breadcrumbs (I used Panko), onion, Parmesan, parsley, garlic, beaten egg whites, salt, oregano, basil, and pepper. ️Mix lightly but thoroughly. ️With moistened hands, lightly shape mixture into 1-inch balls. You should have about 24 small meatballs ️Coat a large non-stick skillet with non-stick spray. Heat over medium- high heat. Add meatballs, about 8 at a time. Cook, stirring constantly, until browned, about 2 to 3 minutes per batch. Re-coat skillet with cooking spray as needed. When all meatballs are browned, return them to the skillet. Over medium heat, continue to cook, shaking skillet to turn meatballs, about 5 minutes or until cooked through. ️Serve with your favorite pasta and sauce or eat them plain! Kettlebells, the best, most functional weight training available for your golf game.
•
Started the day with barbell lunges:
- 5 sets of 14 reps starting at 95# increasing by 15# every set (ending at 170# for 14 - BRUTAL!)
•
6 minute break then started on the kettlebells
•
(Did each set on both arms, just wanted to reduce the video so each set is facing forward)
•
Train right:
Here is some heavy lunge work starting with unilateral farmer carry lunges working on spinal cross-chain stability, focus is lateral muscles- glutes, QL, oblique and diaphragm with breathe.
•
Then moved into overhead lunges progressing with similar weight.
•
Next is over-head split squats with a focus on quads and structural balance.

Improvised workout.
I’m at the in-laws for the weekend with no gym. No problem though, I just put the kettlebell and gym bag in the car and still got a great workout. Also got lucky and had a giant box from the trampoline we just got from the kids.
It’s always nice getting out of the clean gym and outside anyway. Anywhere can be a gym!

Workout:
5 rounds of:
#kettlebellsnatch x 5 each side
Jump over box x 8 Fwd, 8 Bkwd
Susp. Tuck & #pushup x 10
#doubleunders x 30

Part 2:
As many *good* reps as possible - 
#turkishgetup in 10 minutes

It ended up being a great workout. Nice change of pace from the Olympic lifting, and it’s always nice getting a little dirty.

Improvised workout. I’m at the in-laws for the weekend with no gym. No problem though, I just put the kettlebell and gym bag in the car and still got a great workout. Also got lucky and had a giant box from the trampoline we just got from the kids. It’s always nice getting out of the clean gym and outside anyway. Anywhere can be a gym! Workout: 5 rounds of: #kettlebellsnatch x 5 each side Jump over box x 8 Fwd, 8 Bkwd Susp. Tuck & #pushup x 10 #doubleunders x 30 Part 2: As many *good* reps as possible - #turkishgetup in 10 minutes It ended up being a great workout. Nice change of pace from the Olympic lifting, and it’s always nice getting a little dirty. IMO, being happy, but hungry, is an awesome way to live life. Aggressively chasing accomplishments doesn’t usually bring us the joy and success we seek. But keeping our souls happy gives us the emotional space we need to grow and discover the things that light us up. From there we feel the gentle hunger that fuels our dreams. .

Walking and running is in our DNA in the same way that flying is in a bird's DNA. This is not just a mental thing. These mechanics are in our bones, muscles and fascia.

If you watch high level athletes in almost any sport, you will see them utilize these mechanics in order to do their sport-specific movement.

When I first understood this concept, I realized that my whole approach to training was stupid. Why would you try to learn a movement/skill from scratch when you already have movements/skills built in to you?

Hands up if you know what CARS (Controlled Articular Rotations) are!! No? Well here is a photo of me doing some gleno-CARS! And below will be my explanation!
•
CARS come from FRC (Functional Range Conditioning & are defined as...."Active, rotational movements at the outer limits of articular motion".
•
CAR's are large circular movements at your joints end range of motion. Each circle must use tension and be controlled allowing for no movement at other joints. By doing so, we are able to reap three distinct advantages that makes CARs beneficial for you!
•
1)Maintain ROM throughout your life

2)Maintain joint health

3)Assessment of joints

#TRXFreestyleFriday with a little  #TRXRipTraining. Striking exercises are my favorite. They include a push, pull and rotation all in one strike. Anything overhead makes it that much harder to control. #trxripaxechop Instead of focusing on training one body part at a time I prefer to train the body as a whole. Rip strikes do just that. .
