When you hear the word “VETS” pop up in your humans’ conversation!😱
Bear’s 2nd total hip replacement is all booked in for next month and it can’t come soon enough!
Now that he has one good hip (left), the dysplasia of his right side is even more pronounced. He’s become quite badly lame on his bad hip (as he’s weight bearing more on his solid implant) and is struggling on his walks; so we’ve had to reduce his exercise duration & increase his painkiller dosage again 😔. This is the hardest part as he really loves being outdoors and he has so much energy that he just can’t completely burn off.
It’s a difficult balance of exercise and rest at the moment. It’s important we keep building his muscle mass around his new hip but in the meantime, his bad one is still very painful.
Saving for his surgery will be ongoing right up to the day of his admission (and looong after that!😣)
If you can help by contributing anything towards his final operation, we (& Bear especially) would really appreciate it! We’ll be personally thanking and making custom photo edits for all who do!😞🐻
