{THE SECRET TO CONSISTENCY} It’s how your workout makes you feel, not the way it makes you look.

Lots of people start working out to alter their appearance. I did. And that’s fine. But if you truly want to build a lasting fitness habit, find a reward that’s more than skin-deep.

That’s not to say you can’t or won’t change your body. I’m just saying if it was only about abs, I would’ve quit a long time ago. Chasing a physique goal can hold you over for a while. But ask any person who has consistently worked out for years, and they’ll tell you they do it for more than just their appearance.

Looking at exercise as simply a means to change your body actually robs you from experiencing the deeper benefits of it. Things like:

💪Getting stronger
🧠 Mental resilience
🏃🏻‍♀️ Endurance
🔋More energy
🏆 A sense of accomplishment
💃🏻 Increased confidence
🧘‍♀️Building discipline
🤸🏻‍♀️Feeling capable .
The bottom line is that working out can make you an all-around better person–if you let it.

It has been shown to massively increase oestrogen in men which can cause increase in both belly and breast tissue. Think drinking beer is manly? There’s a high chance it’s turning you into a woman!

Hey everyone, are you ready for water aerobics?

Starting May 6th, we will have water aerobics every Monday at 6 p.m. this class is free to members and guests can attend for $15 per session. We have the same great instructor as last year Kathy, who puts on a great class that is low impact and a wonderful way to get your body moving if you have achy joints. We hope to see you there in a couple weeks!

I’m going to be sharing a lot more of my journey throughout our 80 days, but here are some quick facts to help you get to know me:

1️⃣ I’ve been a Chicago girl for the last 8 years but have lived all over, including Michigan, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Canada, and China.

2️⃣ I’m a lawyer by trade but quit my job 2+ years ago to travel and work online! Now I’m a travel blogger, lawyer for online entrepreneurs, and - what I’m currently most excited about - a fitness & wellness coach!

Blessed beyond measure 💕

It is so easy for me to live with my head stuck in the future. My personality lends itself to setting goals, checking off lists, and dreaming of what could be. All while forgetting was currently IS.
.
This is especially true when as a family we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. Always running from one thing to the next. It becomes what’s next on the schedule / list? Instead of living in the hear and now. Always wishing and waiting for what could be or what’s to come.
.
INTENTIONALITY is what it boils down to. Taking the time to know our priorities and then being intentional to make sure that they are happening.
.
This sets the tone to allow appreciation, gratitude, joy, healing, creativity, dreams, and raw emotions to surface.
.
This is how I want to live. Fully present. Fully loving. Fully aware of how frickin’ blessed we are. Fully taking it all in: the good, the bad, the ugly. All of it.
.

I’ll be honest, I don’t always love HIIT training!⁣

I used to be frustrated & wonder why sometimes I could crush a killer HIIT sesh 💦 and other times my body was like NO 🙅🏼‍♀️⁣

Then, I learned more about the phases of my cycle, and it’s actually natural & normal to have energy fluctuations throughout the month as our hormones change!⁣

So if you’re in your Follicular or Ovulatory phase, enjoy this fun little HIIT circuit!⁣
🌸 30 sec battle ropes⁣
🌸 10 burpees⁣
🌸 30 jumping jacks⁣
—-repeat 3x! I like this as part of my cardio/abs training day⁣
⁣

I think we need to brag on ourselves more. Not in a way that is demeaning or belittling. But celebrating what we are excited for and what you accomplished. .
Naturally, your brain tends to under emphasize the positive and over emphasize the negative. If you share your victories you get to share what you are proud of. I will always want to share in your victories or what you are excited for.  I will always be happy for someone that is excited or proud. Sharing in someone’s excitement is a beautiful thing! If you find yourself being jealous over what someone else is doing, make a goal to get there yourself! .

🤨Something that’s been helping me stay #motivated & power through 💥 these chaotic days is swapping my To-Do List 🖊 w/ a DONE LIST ✅ Read about this idea recently & it has not only helped w/ my confidence, but also w/ my productivity!

📝Just before my midday break at work & again before I leave, I write down everything I ACCOMPLISHED thus far 💪🏽 I’ve also been getting in the habit of doing it before 🛌 bed - (this last list pertains to my personal business, things around the house 🏠, #adulting things, etc lol)

🙌🏽At first the concept was kind of odd to me, but after starting it makes soooo much sense & feels GOOD 😇 I’ve always been a list person, & my To-Do list always seems like it’s 📓never-ending... 😫 that’s the problem w/ To-Do Lists👉🏽 there is literally ALWAYS MORE to do! What an incredibly stress-inducing way to live! 😭 Not to mention some things may sit on that list five-ever if they aren’t prioritized...

👊🏽I’ve had this ongoing effort to make a point to PAUSE ⏸ & appreciate myself for the things I check ☑️ off those lists, but opting for the DONE LIST in lieu of this has been wayyyy more successful! 😁💪🏽 Easier to be proud of oneself looking at a list of all the things one has completed rather a list w/ checks accompanied by a bunch of pending tasks 🥴 On top of that, I’m way more determined to start & FINISH 🏃🏽 a task rather than going halfway & saving the rest for another day!

I was recently reflecting on this with a client, and I hope this is taken as a gift of authenticity and relatability: sometimes we may see an athlete, fit pro or coach, and assume, “it’s just easier for them”. Like let’s use Michael Phelps. LOL. It’s easy to say, it’s easier for him to excel at swimming. Just like “staying on track” is easier for fit pros than it is for other people.
.
But guess what? I’m a coach, and I can tell you that at least for me, that’s not true.  I don’t feel any better at this stuff than you do. Yes I have knowledge on my side, along with years of experience and strategies to implement (which is what I guide my clients on), but at the end of the day, what I mean is, it takes the same amount of will power, planning, commitment, recommitment, mindfulness, grit, sacrifice and sheer determination to succeed. For all of us. That is universal.
.
There’s never perfect time to start. There will always be distractions and stressors. How would we ever grow if we never committed to doing hard things when things were already hard?
.
What helps me succeed? I can tell you that when I have a support system for accountability and I’m passionately aligned with my goal, I can hold myself to act in congruence with my goals. I can step back and ask myself: will this choice help further me toward or away from my goal? And then I know I have a choice in that moment. This is when I’m thriving at my best, when my whole mind body and soul are attuned to my goal.

But it’s also very important to remember that not every day is going to feel “ideal”. Some days will feel messy! We may have an idea of how we “should” be fulfilling our goals, and we can let the loads of “should” get in the way of “good”. But what keeps us marching toward our goals is still showing up anyway. Finding ways to persevere even if life deviates you. Being gritty, resourceful, and resilient. And committing to doing your best.

I was recently reflecting on this with a client, and I hope this is taken as a gift of authenticity and relatability: sometimes we may see an athlete, fit pro or coach, and assume, “it’s just easier for them”. Like let’s use Michael Phelps. LOL. It’s easy to say, it’s easier for him to excel at swimming. Just like “staying on track” is easier for fit pros than it is for other people. . But guess what? I’m a coach, and I can tell you that at least for me, that’s not true. I don’t feel any better at this stuff than you do. Yes I have knowledge on my side, along with years of experience and strategies to implement (which is what I guide my clients on), but at the end of the day, what I mean is, it takes the same amount of will power, planning, commitment, recommitment, mindfulness, grit, sacrifice and sheer determination to succeed. For all of us. That is universal. . There’s never perfect time to start. There will always be distractions and stressors. How would we ever grow if we never committed to doing hard things when things were already hard? . What helps me succeed? I can tell you that when I have a support system for accountability and I’m passionately aligned with my goal, I can hold myself to act in congruence with my goals. I can step back and ask myself: will this choice help further me toward or away from my goal? And then I know I have a choice in that moment. This is when I’m thriving at my best, when my whole mind body and soul are attuned to my goal. . But it’s also very important to remember that not every day is going to feel “ideal”. Some days will feel messy! We may have an idea of how we “should” be fulfilling our goals, and we can let the loads of “should” get in the way of “good”. But what keeps us marching toward our goals is still showing up anyway. Finding ways to persevere even if life deviates you. Being gritty, resourceful, and resilient. And committing to doing your best. . Don’t have a good scale? Oven broken? Eating out on a business trip? Don’t let these be excuses to throw in the towel. 40s can be one of the most empowering times to set healthy habits. Yet many women in this age group find it hard to get the recommended amount of exercise.

It also maintains or improves blood pressure & cholesterol, helps maintain body weight & healthy muscles & bones, enhances cognitive functioning & life expectancy.” Getting results: Benefits can be seen even with little small amount, especially some women who were previously inactive. So it doesn’t matter if you’ve never exercise before - starting now will bring immediate & longer term benefits. Like one ad says, “Every little helps” 😜 In your 40s, consistency is key.  Our 40s represent an ideal time to establish positive habits that set us up for good health into mid-life & our senior years.

Que tal queimar 100kcal a mais sem fazer nada? Isso soa interessante pra você? 
Todo alimento consome determinado número de calorias para ser absorvido, digerido e armazenado.
Quando você ingere um carboidrato, por exemplo, ele consome de 5 a 10% das calorias para absorver, digerir e armazenar. A gordura consome cerca de 0 a 3%, e a proteína de 20 a 30%. Uma alimentação com maior quantidade de proteínas pode ter uma ingestão calórica maior, porém, o efeito termogênico da proteína é muito elevado, fazendo com que o gasto de energia seja muito maior que o de uma pessoa que tem uma dieta hipocalórica, que tenha pouca proteína. 
Muitas pessoas me perguntam por que não conseguem emagrecer com uma dieta de 1.200kcal. É simples, as calorias foram reduzidas, mas a divisão dos nutrientes está errada, geralmente com mais carboidratos e gorduras do que proteínas.

Um dos grandes segredos para aumentar o gasto calórico diário é ingerir muita proteína, se possível, de origem animal, que são as que têm alto valor biológico, por exemplo: carne vermelha, frango, peixe e ovo. 
Aliando essas dicas a um aumento do consumo dos
3 principais alimentos termogênicos: 
1. Pimenta: a pimenta aumenta a temperatura do seu corpo e consome mais calorias só pelo fato de ser armazenada, absorvida e digerida.
2. Chá verde: outro alimento excelente para aumentar a temperatura corporal e fazer com que você queime mais gordura sem fazer praticamente nada.
3. Gengibre: esse você pode comer como quiser e o quanto quiser, pois ele irá ajudar na queima de gordura também.

Isso sozinho, é claro, não irá mudar seu corpo significativamente, esses 3 alimentos são apenas uma ajuda para você queimar ainda mais calorias. 
O que irá realmente fazer a diferença na sua vida é a combinação desses alimentos, uma dieta rica em proteínas e os exercícios de alta intensidade

Estaba entrenando en casa estos días que estuve enferma 🤕 pero realmente necesitaba mi #ironparadise me relaja me llena de energía y me siento rara cuando no hago ejercicios de fuerza

Si aún no te ánimas a entrenar ¿que estás esperando? Hoy me sentía como que tenía un mes sin entrenar 😅 pero apenas finalicé mi primer serie ya todo estaba normal
.
Recuerden que solo siendo constantes veremos los resultados, el cuerpo no responde a pastillas o batidos milagrosos tampoco responde a dietas de dos semanas y entrenamientos de un mes .
Un mes es lo que mas o menos le toma a tu cuerpo adaptarse a lo que estás haciendo pero no es suficiente para ver resultados, cuando estas mas incómod@ es cuando estás a punto de ver los resultados y cuando digo incómod@ no digo que tienen que pasar hambre pero vamos a ser realistas; todo comienzo es incómodo tu cuerpo no está acostumbrado a tu nueva actividad física tampoco está acostumbrado a comer bien o estar en déficit calórico pero tienen que seguir empujándose porque son capaces de lograr lo que sea que se propongan todo esta en nuestra mente al comienzo la lucha es a nivel mental al menos eso pienso yo, entre mas entrenas a tu mente mejores resultados vas a ver, estoy sorprendida con la relación que tengo con la comida hoy en día y es algo que no me imaginé hace 5-6 años cuando no sabía nada de Fitness y nutrición llegue a pensar que ese apego jamás lo superaría.

Tengo un largo camino por recorrer pero ustedes también son motivación y quiero que me acompañen en este camino y sean testigos de que nada es imposible ante una mente determinada 💪🏻

Exercise actually changes the brain's anatomy, physiology and function." 😯 Her & several other research resources over the years have found that a single sweat inducing workout increases levels of neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and noradrenaline -- all hormones responsible for improving mood, focus, attention -- all functions of the brain's prefrontal cortex, right behind our forehead. So when we exercise, decision making for food improves because we no longer eat out of stress or anxiety. @iambrandijo is a former client who didn't believe me when I first told her that exercise will help her make better food choices.
