How To Perform The Kettlebell Swing

The movement axis of the swing is through the hip joint and not the shoulders. The spinal curves must be correctly maintained.

The swing is a simple exercise that is done wrong in by so many people. It is not a squat movement, but a hip-hinge movement.
That means that the hips go back (#hiphinge), and the knees only bend slightly.

The target muscles are the hip extensors, part of the Superficial Back Line.

The rapid acceleration of the kettlebell via the motion of the hips is accompanied by substantial activation of muscles in both the posterior chain / back line and other core muscles. 
Hamstring > Sacrotuberous ligament (white) > Sacrum > Erector spinae (sacrolumbar fascia)

The back erectors are active in full coordination with the other core muscles, simultaneously co-activating all layers of core muscles (#bracing)

Protect the back!
Keep your back straight throughout the movement. The rod placed on the back illustrates the importance of maintaining a straight back. Do not let the kettlebell pull the lower back into a bad position at the bottom of the swing.

The aim of this exercise is to Improve chest muscle flexibility and ranges of movement in the shoulder girdle.
.
Instructions:
Feet parallel on floor at hip width.
Arms to the side at shoulder height, elbows bent to 90 degrees.

From this position place the backs of the hands on the floor.

Slowly lower the knees from side to side while shoulders and hands maintain contact with the ground.

How To Perform The Kettlebell Swing

The movement axis of the swing is through the hip joint and not the shoulders. The spinal curves must be correctly maintained.

The swing is a simple exercise that is done wrong in by so many people. It is not a squat movement, but a hip-hinge movement.
That means that the hips go back (#hiphinge), and the knees only bend slightly.

The target muscles are the hip extensors, part of the Superficial Back Line.

The rapid acceleration of the kettlebell via the motion of the hips is accompanied by substantial activation of muscles in both the posterior chain / back line and other core muscles. 
Hamstring > Sacrotuberous ligament (white) > Sacrum > Erector spinae (sacrolumbar fascia)

The back erectors are active in full coordination with the other core muscles, simultaneously co-activating all layers of core muscles (#bracing)

Protect the back!
Keep your back straight throughout the movement. The rod placed on the back illustrates the importance of maintaining a straight back. Do not let the kettlebell pull the lower back into a bad position at the bottom of the swing.

No agachamento completo, a liberdade de movimento e a boa mobilidade nas articulações do quadril e pelve são essenciais para manter as curvas neutras da coluna vertebral.

Realize o agachamento até o estágio em que não podemos manter a curva lombar. Em outras palavras, adapte o agachamento completo às necessidades do praticante.
Cada exercitador tem o seu "cheio", mesmo que isso signifique não chegar até o fim.

Antes de realizar um agachamento ou qualquer outro exercício de perna, devemos criar uma base estável do pé, através dos músculos do quadril e até os músculos centrais.
Uma base estável equilibrará a carga em todas as juntas e ossos.

Como fazemos isso simplesmente?
Você pode executar duas ações que podem ativar todos os músculos relevantes:
1. Pressione o dedão do pé para baixo no chão.
2. Gire o quadril externamente - dirija o joelho para fora e, ao mesmo tempo, empurre as pernas para os lados como se quisesse separá-los.

Fixar o pé e girar o quadril preservará o arco do pé e a estabilidade do joelho e do quadril. Separar as pernas e contrair o assoalho pélvico ativará músculos adicionais, entre eles os abdutores do quadril e os músculos centrais.

Full Squat the right/safe way

Lumbar flexion in the deep squat stage because of mobility limitations in the hip joints and pelvis.

It's important to maintain the natural curves in your spine to prevent lower back strain.

In full squat, freedom of movement and good mobility in the hip joints and pelvis are essential for maintaining neutral spinal curves.

Perform the squat up to the stage in which we cannot maintain the lumbar curve. In other words adapt the full squat to the exerciser's needs. 
Each exerciser has his "full", even if this means not getting all the way down.

Before performing a squat or any other leg exercise we must create a stable base from the foot through the hip muscles and up to the core muscles.
A stable base will balance the load on all the joints and bones.

How do we do this simply?
You can perform two actions that can activate all the relevant muscles:
1.	Press the big toe down onto the floor.
2.	Rotate the hip externally – drive your knee outward, and at the same time push the legs to the sides as if you want to separate them.

Fixing the foot and rotating the hip will preserve the foot arch and the stability of the knee and hip. Moving the legs apart and contracting the pelvic floor will activate additional muscles, among them the hip abductors and the core muscles. 
A short practice of these two actions will give you a very important motor pattern that from now on can serve as a basis for all leg exercises.

Today is legs day and I am sharing great tutorial on correct squat technique.

Lumbar flexion in the deep squat stage because of mobility limitations in the hip joints and pelvis.

It's important to maintain the natural curves in your spine to prevent lower back strain.

In full squat, freedom of movement and good mobility in the hip joints and pelvis are essential for maintaining neutral spinal curves.

Perform the squat up to the stage in which we cannot maintain the lumbar curve. In other words adapt the full squat to the exerciser's needs. 
Each exerciser has his "full", even if this means not getting all the way down.

Before performing a squat or any other leg exercise we must create a stable base from the foot through the hip muscles and up to the core muscles.
A stable base will balance the load on all the joints and bones.

How do we do this simply?
You can perform two actions that can activate all the relevant muscles:
1.	Press the big toe down onto the floor.
2.	Rotate the hip externally – drive your knee outward, and at the same time push the legs to the sides as if you want to separate them.

Fixing the foot and rotating the hip will preserve the foot arch and the stability of the knee and hip. Moving the legs apart and contracting the pelvic floor will activate additional muscles, among them the hip abductors and the core muscles. 
A short practice of these two actions will give you a very important motor pattern that from now on can serve as a basis for all leg exercises.
