I made the CHOICE a few years ago to change my eating habits and to change my body with regular exercise. I was 38 and sick regularly with #lupus Symptoms. I was taking prescription medicine for anxiety/ depression and for chronic inflammation and pain .... one day I made a CHOICE ..... I made the CHOICE to better my health and by doing this build my self confidence and ability to practice  acceptance and patience. •

If you give in to every excuse (yes there are TONS of those) ... you are CHOOSING to stay the same. It’s that simple. •

When it comes to diet and nutrition, everyone has different goals, different tastes and preferences. It’s all good as long as your meals give you energy, keep you healthy and get you going.

If, like me, some days you prefer to have a cooked breakfast, here is a quick option. I usually put my bread in the toaster then prepare the eggs. It only takes me four minutes and breakfast is ready. This will normally keep me full for a few hours.

Another view I found very fascinating. I should have looked at the inflight map to know the exact location of this master piece. From my view, they looked like properly done tiles, but I doubt they are and I wish I knew how this formed. Any ideas? -

5. Always, Always, Always use the toilet seat covers. Double it if need be. I make sure to wipe first with enough tissue, cover the toilet seat then use tissue again to flush. Wash your hand VERY WELL with warm water then use your hand cream if they dont have. -

6. Predetermine how long your trip will be for and pack toiletries & extra underwear; socks, pants, lots of panty liners, a face towel etc. Plan for an extra day too. Its never happened to me but it can happen. My bag usually has hand creams and a small bottle of perfume so I really dont bother about packing these. If you use stick deos, this can always go in your hand luggage as well. -

Most of my life I was the “skinny girl” who got teased, called names and many times, people threatening how easily they could break me. I hid behind pants to cover my skinny legs, I hid behind blazers and sweaters to cover my collar bone. It was tough liking my body. My mother then, taught me to look in the mirror and identify what I liked about myself. It started with my smile. I love that when I smiled, it is directly connected to how I feel and anyone who experiences it feels it’s authenticity.

Growing up in Nigeria, skinny was never in. Transitioning to America and experiencing it’s appreciation for skinny gave me a sense of finally belonging. I also knew it was more than that. I couldn’t let an industry define me. I had to do the daily work of embracing all of me. The “eeehh" and not so "ehhh parts". It took years of speaking life into myself with affirmations to embrace all of me. And just when I finally felt comfortable in my body, I got pregnant with twins.

Studies have shown that resistance training acutely increases total testosterone in males, whereas there is NO change in females. 🏋🏻 Resistant exercises include the, Goblet Squat, Dumbbell Row, Push-Up, and Hip Extensions. Just to name a few.

However, when these exercises are executed, free testosterone HAS been shown to be elevated ⬆ up to 25% in females after resistance training. Yet, it’s not a significant enough amount of testosterone to allow for muscle hypertrophy to the extent of a male.

First picture is the night before my first show this year (June 16th)
Second picture (yesterday) 
Working on leg definition with @only1caingarcia but that’s hidden till we shed some more off. 
We also been focusing on my upper body, hence the wider back, shoulders, etc. all with cutting cardio down to 1/4 of what I was doing before and more food (mostly protein). Only 3 months into bulking, can’t wait to see what the next 3 yield 🙃

This morning didn't go as planned. Woke up finding my AC frozen, so had to deal with that and before I knew it, it was time to get ready for work. .

Came home to greet the AC company and got the wonderful news that the compressor was shot and the owner, who makes all the decisions, is on the way to the hospital because his wife was in labor. That meant it'd be at least Friday before they could get back to me.
.
.
I was super excited for the owner and could only think about what a blessing it is to be having a baby right before Thanksgiving. What a wonderful gift to be thankful for 😍!! I also have to be thankful for this wonderful Florida weather. It's cooled down and we can open the windows in the evenings. I told the technician to tell the owner to enjoy the holidays and his new bundle of joy and he could get back to me on Monday.

Anyways, dealing with that plus a days work had me a little drained.  At the moment I was thinking about using today as my rest day instead of the schedules one, which is tomorrow. When I opened up IG the first thing I see is Shaun T's post saying "get your a** up and workout!" If that wasn't a burst of motivation!! .
.
I dropped my son off at tutoring and came back home and pushed play! The feelings and clarity I had after that 30 mins felt soooo amazing and it reminded me of my "WHY" I continue down this fitness journey. Let's be real here, this week is definitely not about the weight loss or body image, I definitely plan on enjoying the holiday with family and then get back on track this weekend. I know that with consistency I will reach my goals, but enjoying these moments is important as well!!

Now, we’re not suggesting anyone try to abstain from turkey, stuffing and your favorite pie.

But if you’re trying to measure the pleasure against your hard-won exercise gains, here’s a handy guide to learn how much yumminess you’ve earned .

Because lots of people still think I always looked the way I do now. Nope. Not genetically gifted AT ALL, this is hard work, sacrifice, dedication and determination only.

Love me some rows! Just make sure that your keeping your back straight. If you keep your chin up this will help you quite a bit in this area. As for the tempo/rhythm I like to keep it nice and slow making sure to fully extend my arm on the negative to allow for that stretch of the muscle.

Det er pudsigt - der nogle ting der er såååå nemmer at fortælle om på IG og nogle ting jeg synes er helt pinligt at nævne . Det er mega nemt for mig at snakke om vægttab og vise billeder af min mave 🤷🏼‍♀️.. #NEMT.. Men at skulle fortælle jeg er single. At jeg føler mig uden for det normale. At føle jeg aldrig bliver hende med kæreste og børn. Jeg er faktisk ret træt af at gemme på det der fylder så meget i mit hoved .. nemlig ikke at være elsket. It’s national back and bicep day aka Tuesday. Two things I never miss on Tuesday are my pull-ups and full range sit ups. Core work can be done everyday but for me these sit ups are the most difficult so I do them on Tuesday’s because back and Bi’s are my favorite so it only seems fitting. Neglecting any body part is never the answer, so never skip. Try combining something you don’t like with something you love! #3m_fitness •

Alternatively, you may totally be happy with the way you look now, and that's great! Not everyone starts in a "bad place." It's still a good idea to take these photos so you can see the evidence of your hard work and dedication.

I am on my 2nd of 3 cleanses this month. I am determined not to get sick this season and to keep my progress through the holidays!⠀

Have you tried a cleanse lately? I'm loving it! Ok the actual day of cleansing is hard sometimes, but I cleanse to get rid of the toxins and reset. ⠀

I never would have thought I would like it, but it's second nature to me now and I have been doing it for 2.5 years! (Well not while pregnant. 😬) The idea is that it is an intermittent fast, but supported with additional nutrients to help the body detox. It's great for burning fat, but I just love how I feel after! My anxiety goes down, my energy goes up, I crave less junk, I lose a few pounds...⠀
