Yesterday I had the opportunity to volunteer again with fellow NAPO-NY organizers for New York Coalition for the Homeless’ First Step Program. We unpacked a mountain of donation boxes, categorized, sorted, and prepped items for the spring/summer seasons. It was such a gratifying day of service and I’m grateful to be able to dedicate time to such a wonderful cause. ————————————————————
The First Step Program offers training, support, and job skills education to women experiencing homelessness. The clothing donations are sorted into a boutique area where the ladies in the program come to be outfitted for interviews and internships.
