️Growth, burnout and what life feels like in a cookie-cutter️
When I ask business owners what they want, they usually say something along the lines of "more clients”, “more sales” or “to grow the business". however, this means nothing really.
Because "growth" is not measurable until you put a timeframe or milestone around it. This is where most of you are getting frustrated.
You want to grow, but your growth goals and too vague and not set in a personalized process.
The key here is for you to define growth in a more specific way, understand why you want to grow and what growth would look and feel like for you.
When you just say "I want to grow" but you don't how you specifically want to grow from where you are to where you want to be. You won't be able to get there.
Also if you just try to "achieve growth" by implementing the formulas from your mentor, guru, or by the book etc. and don't infuse yourself into it, part of you will always feel left behind.
I've been here and it always seemed easy to think "Just give me the map and I'll follow it". But that's how me and many others ended up checking ALL the boxes in life and still felt a lot of frustration and lack of fulfillment. This is the true cause of burnout.
Most people think it is all the hours you work in your business or professional life that leads to burnout. However, given what you end up producing in relation to your goals and perceived effort, it usually becomes clear that it is more about how you think and feel about things happening day to day than what you are actually doing.
Read that again.
Burnout has to do more with how you think and feel about the things you are doing than what you actually do!
I advise my clients on two keys to overcoming this:
1. Get intimate with your desires and get to KNOW what growth looks like for you in your current business stage. Your goals don't have to look like everyone else. It could be anything from growing an audience or pipeline to improving customer results so you can grow sales. The more specific you can be, the more focused and high performing your days will turn out. 🏼🏼🏼
