Another amazing creation by Cluny. Coq au vin is one of my favourite French dishes, and Cluny prepares this poutine with large shredded pieces of organic chicken. Traditionally served with potatoes, but what better way to serve this than on fries?! The chicken is perfectly braised with red wine, sautéed mushroom, carrots, bacon and shallots, and then topped with St. Albert cheese curds.

The P2C ratio is actually not too bad at all - very close to being a 3-star rating - for a dish with fries! For better P2C ratio, go easy on the fries, although that’s gonna be extremely hard - Cluny’s skinny fries are just the best.

It’s simply the ratio between the amount of protein and calories of food (g/cal). Since the diet for a lean physique is arguably a high-protein-low-calorie one - especially under a calorie deficit during fat loss, since you only have a limited amount of calories to work with, the goal is to assess and inform on which foods give the “best bang for the buck” (or best protein for the calories).

This is the Seventh Set i Shot. Did not shoot from the beginning because i wanted to remain focused. Target was 10 sets but got soo exhausted and couldn’t do more🤦‍♂️. Worked from home today so no Warehouse or Fitnesspoint gym today but one can get shit done with a barbell and pull-up bar.

Hadn’t bent over barbell rowed in a while now so was nice to incorporate this movement again and I got quickly reminded of how good of a squeeze the lats receive and the engagement of the core muscles.

Biceps and calves were on the menu too until I felt a strain on my left bicep doing my very first movement. Along with my bicep I felt a light strain on my calf this morning when doing LISS that just progressed and is tender enough now. Scag. But not really a big deal. One doesn’t grow their calves and biceps in a couple of days so one will not lose them in a couple of days.

The ego got a good session in too as I’m happy with how my glutes look on the bent over rows along with the bumper plates giving the illusion I’m shrugging 300kg when it’s only 120kg.

Not a groundbreaking day but got the boxes ticked as much as I could 🙂

The issue with it is... there is ZERO education into basic nutrition, energy balance and how to sustain the results you’ve achieved❌

What little “education”  there is .. which I say with air quotes as most people who lead these groups have no knowledge of nutrition.. is questionable at the best⁉️ -

Nuts make great snacks but as you can see, they can be easy to get up there in calories quickly. The winners in the protein department are almonds while cashews and pistachios take the lead in the carb department.

If you’re watching your caloric intake, feel free to have them. They are full of nutritious stuff. Just make sure you are careful with your quantity and overestimate how many you’re eating (just to be safe 😊). The protein and fat will curb your hunger and keep you full.

[Garlic Herb Sausage and Veggie Foil Packs
Looking for an easy dinner? Look no further because these have got your busy weeknights covered! They’re packed with veggies and smoked sausage coins and they’re deliciously flavorful. By @cookingclassy ~
16 oz. baby red potatoes
12 oz. fully cooked smoked turkey sausage, cut into slices about 1/4-inch thick
12 oz. green beans or yellow beans, ends trimmed (I used a blend of both)
8 oz. baby carrots, thicker ones halved through the length
1 small yellow onion, halved and sliced
4 tsp minced garlic (4 cloves)
1/4 cup olive oil
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Grated parmesan, for serving (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place red potatoes on a large plate and microwave for 3 minutes, turning once halfway through. Once cool enough to handle cut into quarters. Add potatoes, sausage, beans, carrots, onions and garlic to a large mixing bowl. Add in olive oil, Italian seasoning and season with a fair amount of salt and pepper to taste.
Cut 4 pieces of 16 by 12-inch heavy duty aluminum foil. Lay each piece separately on a flat surface. Divide sausage mixture evenly among sheets of foil, creating a somewhat rectangular shape with the mixture. Wrap sides of foil in then fold 2 times to seal while leaving room for heat to circulate, then wrap ends up folding twice to seal.
Lay foil packs side by side on a 18 by 13-inch baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven until veggies are tender, about 35 - 40 minutes. Carefully open packets (they'll steam!). Sprinkle with parmesan and parsley. Serve warm.]⁣⁣⁣⁣

One of the best messages every!

Other than the fact that this is the best introduction to a message I have ever seen, these are the best messages to recieve.

Derek works a very physical job that made working out almost impossible at the end of the day. Instead of fighting that giant obstacle, we tackled a much smaller one nutrition.

Derek cut back on lots of foods that were pushing his waistline further: beer, Chinese food, fried chicken, chips

He lost over 25lbs just by changing his diet! He killed it and ended up saving a pair pants in the process. Now he needs to buy a new pair because they are too big (that's a good problem to have)

This is how I prefer to do my cardio.... a lot of people dread doing cardio but if you keep it varied it can be quite fun! This doesn’t mean 30mins on the treadmill then the next day 30mins on the bike. Performing different movements at various intensities makes the workout more engaging and less time consuming

Got our workout done for the day, decided to do a made up emom in the garage gym. Had the door open so 94 degrees and 70% humidity 🤣 it was a sweat fest. So thankful for a healthy mind and healthy body today though and especially to spend this day with @matgonzalez3 he’s always willing to be my workout ride or die. Emom (every minute on minute) is posted ☝🏻, I used 15lbs for all the arm exercises. If you can’t do it that fast then no big deal, just move your body today, that’s really all that matters. .

So many people are focused on losing weight, being a size zero, or having abs. If that’s your goal, I’d say it’s fine, but isn’t how you FEEL more important?
. 
If you get to your “perfect” size by constantly restricting what you eat & excessively exercising, are you really going to feel good + be healthy? I think most likely not
. 
The good news: There definitely are ways to achieve your body goals while still focusing on health!
. 
I’m excited that I’ve finally gotten to a point where I can eat as much as I want & even have cheat days while still making progress towards my goals!
