Been experimenting with this meditation for the last few days, really enjoying it:) In Vedic, tradition there are 7 ‘Bija Mantras’ which vibrationally align our energy centers or chakras through sound.
They are simple but powerful!
All you need to do is:
Sit, feet flat on floor.
Bring your attention to your root chakra. (Please see diagram of the 7 chakras showing where they’re located in the body & their corresponding colours). You could focus on the colour associated with that chakra, for example red for the root chakra, or just focus on where the chakra is. Then say the word/mantra for the root chakra ‘LAM’ three times. (Please find list of the mantras below). Draw out the word, focusing on the first constant then ending like you would for ‘omm’ eg ‘lllllllllaaammmmmm.’ But basically as long as you say the mantra, and have the intention to heal, its fine, don’t get too caught up on the detail of pronunciation. Say it 3 times.
Move to the next chakra up, focus on the chakra then say the word/mantra listed below for that chakra 3 times.
And so on, up the chakras.
At the end, take a minute or two and follow the breath, bringing your attention back to the room.
Root - LAM
Sacral - VAM
Solar plexus - RAM
Heart - YAM
Throat - HAM
Third eye - SHAM
Crown - OMM
Discovered these Bija mantras through the talk below by Jonathan Goldman in the HayHouse summit, available to watch free until tomorrow eve.
