Harden haters are going crazy right now, after his historically bad shooting performance. After starting 0-15 from the field, Harden looked absolutely terrible. That is, based on looking at the stat sheet alone. The common knock on Harden is that he doesn’t do anything but score, but the one night he does everything but score, people tear him apart. It really doesn’t make sense. He passed the ball very well, but his teammates made some good shots making him look better. Surprisingly, he played really solid defense as well. He did finally get his points in the 4th, killing any opportunity Utah had of winning the game. It was one of the weirdest performances I’ve ever seen. Obviously it wasn’t good because he shot so terribly, but he played good in other facets of the game. There are basically two assumptions you can make after watching this. 1: The Rockets won’t be able to win consistently in the postseason with these type of games, and 2: They showed they can win games even when they struggle. Both have some serious validity, but I lean more towards the latter. Good teams win the games they are supposed to, while great teams win the ones they aren’t supposed to. It boils down to that. Maybe Houston got a little lucky, but either way, they are going into game 4 up 3-0 and aren’t looking back.
