Feeling very full after such a magic day in the garden today. Gene and I were an unstoppable team, working together in high spirits. I loved watching all the birds sing and dance about, as they celebrated the beauty of the day with us.
Gene and I tidied up two large cotoneaster trees that James lopped down the other day. Must have done 15-20 trailer loads to the bonfire (second pic is of Gene steering the ride on mower) Cotoneaster is one of those terrible spreading trees that we are moving into red alert stage! We just want to get rid of them as soon as possible so that they don’t produce fruit again, and cause further spread. Because of this, we now have a very exposed open area to one side of our house that can now see on to a main road, so we are going to plant some fast(ish) growing Aussie native trees there A.S.A.P. to fill the void.
It’s funny how we all of a sudden feel a little naked, being more exposed than we have been here before; but having said that we still have far more privacy than we’ve ever had living anywhere else.
Other photos are from enjoying some time across many areas on the property today. Some sweet plum blossoms opening up, other blooms showing their faces, seedlings starting to sprout (fenugreek pictured) and a bit of patina charm thrown in there.
I hope your day was as magical as ours ✨
