With all this cold weather we’ve had, and an impending blizzard this weekend, I can’t help but be a little excited for some family time, and inevitable downtime. The idea of a “snow day” was exciting for a different reason as a kid, but I’m feeling just as giddy thinking about hot chocolate, fuzzy slippers and snuggling up with a book. My kids will most definitely be out playing in the snow!
️ It’s hard to imagine that we’ve become so busy that it takes bad weather to slow our pace and to show us the other, enjoyable and equally important aspects of our lives. The need to fill our cups first is critical, so that we can show up each day to be the best version of ourselves for our families, friends, colleagues, and clients. I remember that my health took a major downturn as I stressed over how to feed my family when everyone has slightly different food allergies. I lost sleep and spent countless hours scouring cookbooks and blogs for the info I needed, learning to adjust to this new way of cooking and living.
Take this as a reminder to pause and have a moment to yourself, or to schedule something fun and rejuvenating. Let me know what that may look like for you, and imagine how refreshed you’ll likely feel afterwards! - 57 minutes ago
