Hi lovelies
The easter weekend is upon us.
I myself am looking forward to it.

This is the view I see every morning when I leave home and when I return.
Some may think and?
Your point is?

Today As I passed I wondered how many of us Stop to take time to see what is really infront of us?

I am guilty of not always appreciating the open space I have around me.
And of not stopping and giving myself time to #recharge.
I love walking to clear my head and walking is one of my #selfcare #destress #recharge tools I use.

However today I just stopped and really paid attention.
I needed the #selfcare day .
I also got my nails 💅done , which was a nice selfcare extra also , just thought I would share incase anyone is interested lol 
Anyway waffling aside I hope you all get the chance this #easterweekend to really stop and take in what is going on around you.
Be that with family, friends or by yourself.

Why care about avoidance habits? See my last post if you don’t know what I’m talking about. Our avoidance habits tend to be the ways we are most self-destructive. It’s avoidance habits that lead us to abuse our bodies, sabotage our relationships, and chip away at our quality of life. Avoidance habits become our most toxic habits. Imagine if you didn’t feel the need to resist or avoid feeling bored, sad, angry, tired, frustrated, anxious, or ashamed? Those urges to self-medicate in whatever way you do would vanish as well. We are ALL addicted to something (usually a few things). Detox includes addressing our avoidance behaviors so we don’t keep shooting ourself in the foot every time we start to make some progress towards better health. The good news is your “bad” habits are actually a blessing... I’ll tell you why tomorrow 😘

Sunshine and rain.

As frustrating as it can be when you want to put your winter coat away for good, when you want to set a date for a trip to your mini storage, when you’re desperate for consistent high 60’s, 
Nature doesn’t have a deadline as she transitions into a new season.

When I was ditching my coat for shirt sleeves on a warm April day, my grandma would say this proverb:
“pity! in April, don’t remove a thread (of your clothing), in May, do what pleases you.” My kids obviously ignore me when I repeat that, and then ask me to buy cough drops because their throat hurts!

Sunshine and rain. But there’s order underneath this beautiful messy transition. Nature’s mischievous while still knowing where she’s heading.

My kids might be at that rebellious stage where they think they know best. But is there something valuable and helpful that we, as adults, can apply?

What if, rather than being impatient, all over the place, and skipping steps, you’d copy Nature and be playful in transition? 
What if you’d press reset on your crazy fast paced life to get a chance to feed YOU? Shedding the old, release internal and external clutter, revitalize the soil so that the new can blossom.
What would it mean to you to feel exactly how you want to feel in your body?

To redefining transitions as fun, exciting, pleasurable!

#Selfcare is a necessity - whether you are functioning at a high level and need a break or are struggling with a depressive episode and can’t get out of bed or maybe somewhere in between. ⠀

Emotional isolation is a more dangerous health risk than smoking or high blood pressure (not my opinion, scientific fact). Even though we might be linked by marriage, it doesn’t mean that we are protected against emotional isolation.  You can become very lonely in marriage when your emotional connection is lost. >>>>>>>>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<<<<<<<<
Working towards creating a supportive and safe place to bond to each other is the key to starting a deep emotional connection, which is what keeps couples together. It’s having the assurance that both you and your partner have empathy for one another and also trust and security, that your partner will always be there for you no matter what the circumstances.  This takes a lot of work, but it’s what will affect every part of your marriage, so it’s not to be ignored. Don’t write off the emotional attachment needs of you or your spouse. Make sure it’s cared for. 🧡

We often forget that feelings are just that- feelings. We let them overpower us, take over us, and dictate us. What we need instead is to recognise them, name them, and ask God for help to deal with them in the right way. ⠀
⠀
This is the idea that ‘What Am I Feeling’ by @joshua.straub and @christistraub reinforces. Actually a children’s book, ‘What Am I Feeling’ has great appeal not just for kids but for adults alike. There’s so much to learn from this story of little Sam who is having a hard day as he feels scared about Show-and-Tell.

It’s a great book to teach children (and adults in the process) about their emotions and how to rightly process and deal with them. The best thing? The book teaches the kids to turn to God for help with whatever they feel. A message we want to ensure our kids grow up with, isn’t it?! ⠀

Great for kids 4 and up, but Bubbles actually enjoys listening to it too! Oh, and it comes with a pull out feelings chart! the book’s available in @amazon and I highly recommend you buy it for your kids! ⠀

I use this all too often in my room to remind my clients of just the same, think of someone you love most in your world and talk to yourself like this on repeat until it feels as comfortable and familiar as the opposite action does now. Many of us have to learn to reparent ourselves and create space for internal healing. This visualization technique is practicing just that. Family of origin experiences, trauma experiences and others can cause us to develop a negative internal dialogue that creates mental disorder. The pillars of mental wellness are the ways in which we heal by increasing our holistic health habits to effect change in mental health. For too long now we have thought about mental health as a fixed state of disorder, when in fact we are currently learning that we can effect change in the chemistry, function and structure of our brain and body by engaging in holistic health habits, including strength-based internal dialogue.

Wellness + Intuitive Eating is ice cream dates with my littlest with no guilt and no "earning the calories". It's getting a size small because I know that's all I'll want and all my body will want before it gives me a stomach ache. 🙈 And since I can have ice cream whenever I want, I'm not worried about when I'll have it next, and don't feel the need to eat a ton because I'll be "good" tomorrow. It's knowing whenever I want ice cream it's just a few dollars and a car ride away.

Flashback to high school and part of my young adult life, I can remember battling and struggling with depression on and off. And always feeling the need to hide it with a smile, out of a fear that people wouldn't understand or believe me. And always thinking, "well other people have it harder, so I have nothing to complain about."

I’m proud of my personal growth and refuse to sit idol when someone treats me wrong. No matter how unfortunate the circumstances are. I’m still dumbfounded by the actions of someone in such a major role and I don’t understand how she still has a job after having so many issues with people, but I have to respect the owners’ decision. I have so much love for everyone else @transportbrewery and wish them the best of luck. It was truly an amazing thing watching other people’s dreams come true. Their light at the end of a long tunnel. If you read this long emotionally trying story I appreciate you and I appreciate your support. Hopefully my career in craft beer is long from over. Cheers! 🍻

You probably were told to be nice. Most of us were. We were told to be nice by our parents, teachers, bosses, significant others. Strangers have told us to smile. Women especially get pressured to be nice, but men also learn how to be people-pleasers. 
Kindness to self and others, cordiality, compassion, refinement — these are emotional attributes worth cultivating. But, they are different from being “nice”. “Nice” can mean being inoffensive — to anyone. “Nice” can mean people-pleasing and acquiescing. “Nice” can also mean being non-confrontational (even when you should be). The following are criteria  that can help you identify if you are being “too nice” in an unhealthy way:

You give way more kindness and love than you receive.

You’re nice on other people’s terms, not on your own terms. You heed to unreasonable and unhealthy demands in the name of “being nice.” You often feel hurt because you are so nice and people are not nice in return.

You are super nice, but not when you are tired, hungry, lonely, bored, angry, or sad. If your mood is low, it’s hard for you to be as nice as you think you should be.

You pride yourself on how nice you are. 
You’ll do anything to avoid being told that you’re not nice.

Your niceness is one-sided and very lonely. 
You rarely feel a sense of togetherness with others even though you are “sweet”. You get demeaned or hurt because you are so nice. Being afraid to offend, coupled with the desire to be perceived as nice, has led you into dangerous situations, physically or emotionally.

Part of recovery is learning how to identify thoughts and feelings that can are triggered by the situations we are placed in. Thankfully, we have the tools necessary to overcome any and all situations that bring us emotional distress. The constant questioning of why hasn't it happened, what's the hold up on me getting that promotion, what is keeping them from connecting, when will things shift for me. They are keeping you waiting for the future. 
The waiting may be keeping you playing a constant loop of questions that you can't answer so you may be creating stories around it that may be perpetuating pain and suffering that just don't serve a purpose but to keep you festering in discomfort. 
Take a moment to recognize those questions and just sit with them without trying to answer them. Just let them exist inside of you unanswered and just trust that the answers will show themselves to you as you continue to navigate your life, sometimes in a way you didn't expect.

Your life is a series of patterns your subconscious mind created to help you survive. The majority of these patterns are all formed by the age of 7. 
When we take offense to something or recoil in panic about anything or refuse to see another point of view, these are patterns being triggered. These patterns are your blindfold in life.

No matter how much you desire something or how hard you try, you will trigger these patterns of survival and you’ll sabotage yourself. 
Doing the work to feel safe removing your blindfold and being open to new things is how you progress. Without it, you stay right where your mind wants you to be. How has that been working for you?

Sometimes things in our lives get disconnected, feels off, funky, gross. And then you do all the things to try and gain that connection back. Get your feel goods back. Because you just want some happiness, you just wanna feel good in your skin right?⠀

But what does that usually mean? Obsessing about everything. What you think you should be doing, what you think should be happening and what you think you should be experiencing, what you think you should be choosing or doing. Whether it be about your food, how you exercise, your weight, what you drink, down to the clothes you choose. It consumes your mind. For what?⠀

Just to feel stressed out and overwhelmed and ultimately do more of those things that make you feel disconnected. Because⠀

🛤️Meditation Journal 4/18:⠀⠀
Today it was particularly noisy and distracting where I was meditating so I listened to some rain sounds. I try to play my nature sounds on low as to not totally drown out any sounds from my environment but it at least creates a more level soundscape without moments of silence and noise. ⠀

Recent events have had me doubting if I really can make my dreams come true. I have been reminding myself that dreams do not have a time limit- if my dream takes longer than I thought, that is okay. BUT I can still do work towards it! I have been getting books from the library to help me learn more and although this is a “small” thing to do for my dream, I really believe knowledge helps us so much and is getting me prepared 💙 I am proud of myself for still moving forward, even if it is slowly ✨

Week of April 15: Feeling shameful about or unworthy of the many blessings in your life is a waste of time.

Are there things you’ve been given in your life – financial support, forgiveness, unconditional love, opportunities, etc. – that you have had a difficult time receiving? Does their presence somehow make you feel like you don’t deserve the goodness that followed because you hadn’t “earned” it? Are you ashamed of how brightly your light shines and the potency of your magnetic power? Ever feel like your gifts, radiance, and dreams and visions were “too much” and might make others uncomfortable?
.
When blessings flow you must receive them. It’s all part of it. Receiving them isn’t shameful and the fact that they exist isn’t shameful. Do something with them. Resisting these blessings and undervaluing yourself and your brilliance is putting you in this awkward in-between place; neither here nor there. “I want it, I want to claim what’s mine, and yet, I don’t.” THAT game needs to be over; it does no one any good.

Not fully receiving the blessings in your life really throws off all the energy within you and around you. Tip toeing around your greatness and not claiming your worth (hint: you breathe and are alive in this sacred human form, therefore you are worthy of any and all amazing things) confuses everything and everyone with whom you come in contact.

Slow down, receive what’s yours, ask for your dreams to be actualized. Respect your unique path and the sacred angels in your life (seen and unseen) that are supporting its evolution.

This week, transform your relationship with receiving by claiming your visions and cut ties with any and all ways that have held you back from fully owning your latent magic.

This is my last weekend of the season here in Colorado. This beautiful home kept me warm, feeling grateful, loved and dreaming. A series of events brought me here in the most unbelievable way. Synchronicities. This afternoon as I watched the snow slowly melt I realized how blessed I am. “Who gets to start a new and big dream while another one is already being fulfilled?” I am in love with everything I’ve created and feeling absolutely free by knowing I am responsible of whatever comes next. I still walk and limp yes, but not even that has or will stop me!

I dig personal growth. I thirst for deepening into my spiritual self. I love unraveling old beliefs and ancestral trauma. Sourcing wisdom from my core wound is my highest passion.

And….I feel that in this age of “self-help” and “healing” and “fixing,” sometimes we take it a wee bit too far and it flirts with self-punishment. I find this to be especially true for my fellow sensitive, intuitive, empath loves.

Hear me out.

When we’ve been shamed for a beautiful part of ourselves (like our sensitivity, for example), we come to see this part as undesirable and less than. It’s something that has made others uncomfortable and goes against the social norms! We don’t wish to be seen in our magic and power because it ain’t safe!
.
The imprints of shame live in our cells. The pain of shame and of wanting to avoid that uncomfortable feeling may be driving the desire to “fix” and “heal."
.
Shame is ugly and insidious; tricky and relentless. You are YOU. You are beyond “perfect,” “enough,” “worthy” and any other buzzy affirmation words. You are whole and holy, sacred, sovereign, and divine. You are made of stardust and ocean water and soil and moon beams. Every part of you is here for a reason – especially the “undesirable” parts. These parts don’t need “fixing” or to be disintegrated; they need witnessing, love, and attention.

What feels exciting about this? What feels challenging about this?

I dig personal growth. I thirst for deepening into my spiritual self. I love unraveling old beliefs and ancestral trauma. Sourcing wisdom from my core wound is my highest passion. . And….I feel that in this age of “self-help” and “healing” and “fixing,” sometimes we take it a wee bit too far and it flirts with self-punishment. I find this to be especially true for my fellow sensitive, intuitive, empath loves. . Hear me out. . When we’ve been shamed for a beautiful part of ourselves (like our sensitivity, for example), we come to see this part as undesirable and less than. It’s something that has made others uncomfortable and goes against the social norms! We don’t wish to be seen in our magic and power because it ain’t safe! . The imprints of shame live in our cells. The pain of shame and of wanting to avoid that uncomfortable feeling may be driving the desire to “fix” and “heal." . Shame is ugly and insidious; tricky and relentless. You are YOU. You are beyond “perfect,” “enough,” “worthy” and any other buzzy affirmation words. You are whole and holy, sacred, sovereign, and divine. You are made of stardust and ocean water and soil and moon beams. Every part of you is here for a reason – especially the “undesirable” parts. These parts don’t need “fixing” or to be disintegrated; they need witnessing, love, and attention. . Stop the battle. Stop the constant seeking. Stop the running. Breathe and surrender to YOU.
