Giant blueberry cream cheese scones. They are not mine. But I was left alone with them. So I am nibbling mindlessly on one. It is funny how I can pick at it and end up eating about 1/4 of one......BUT...... if I wanted to cut a 1/4 and put it on a plate and intentionally eat it I can’t do it.  I can take a bite of someone’s cake but can’t have my own. I would rather have more calories of someone else’s food than less calories of my own!!! OMG EDs never make sense! -

I am beyond grateful to have @becoming_caide as my best friend. They were there for me when I called them crying in the hospital because between my OCD, eating disorder thoughts, and anxiety I was being torn down to ashes every single day. They’ve listened to my stupid mistakes since being home, and talked sense into my eating disorder “logic”. They also sent me a few things this past week. A coloring book, 2 mio’s (LOVE the lemonade btw) and then this spoon. I’m amazed at how well they know me. They know that some of the negative thoughts that paralyze me the most are that I am a terrible mom, wife, friend, and human. That just existing as I currently am, is not enough. This spoon means so much to me, it’s going to feel weird eating off of a spoon that holds so much weight, but I’m up for the challenge. Thank you Caide, as always, I love you and you’re the best 💜💙

It makes me so angry that people preach “healthified”, sugar free, fat-free, low-carb, diet-culture desserts and claim they’re like the real thing except “without the guilt”. Well guess what? That is B.S. and tastes like it too . You can have the real cake without the guilt. Because food doesn’t have moral value. Liquid calories! I was exhausted the other day, so I got myself a coffee and put actual whole milk (and cinnamon) in it because coffee tastes better with milk. When I was in high school and studying really hard, my mom would always make me coffee with whole milk, cinnamon, and a bit of honey. I used to both love and hate it because I knew there were calories. And lately, I’ve been avoiding any form of liquid calories because for some reason, I’m still terrified of them. 🤦🏻‍♀️

But yooo, college life is hard, and sometimes you need an extra boost. I don’t like to rely on caffeine to stay alert, but if you get about five or six hours of sleep, then I think you deserve some coffee. And milk. Because coffee with even a bit of milk or cream is better than black coffee. ☕️

Sorry for being MIA - I have been concentrating on completing my Executive Administration program, working two jobs, and being the best soon-to-be wife & step-Mama I can be 🙌

Yesterday I FINALLY finished my program and I am beyond happy. I came home to being absolutely spoiled by my hubs and was just so grateful ❤️ But with that being said..... I plan on getting back to my regular posting!! 🙌 & I'm so excited!

im not great. im not doing great. im back to only eating dinner which is how my eating disorder started. im back to hating myself after every meal. and every time i try and eat my body gets so sick, i get so sick. ive been super down lately and all i want to do is give in. give in and give my mental illness what it wants. i don’t want to relapse or go backwards. i don’t have anyone to talk to about this and im afraid that if i tell my therapist, he will go to my parents again. what is wrong with me ?

For me, bagels can be about ad intimidating as dragons. When I was younger, I ate bagels. My whole family eats bagels. My friends eat bagels. Hell, I know I like to eat bagels, and they haven’t ever caused me any harm.

is what I felt all day yesterday and it was such a wonderful and unexpected change. I simply felt joyful. I had worries but they didn't overtake my perspective or experience of the day.

Usually I worry so much about things I want, whether I'll get them or not, such as a permanent job, lasting recovery, etc. . . even though I realize worrying does not change a single thing. So much time lost. Calories, my weight, my behaviors, how my clothes fit, things I'm unhappy about, body image. . . all those worries need to be set free. It's a habit I need to lose.

It was wonderful to experience the joy of the day and the people in it. To behave as if I don't have to be on guard or use my mental energy to solve problems I have no control over at the moment.

I hope to have more days like those. Days where I fall asleep happy about a day enjoyed without being overcome by worries. Today was a different day but yesterday sure was wonderful.

I hope your day is as beautiful and bright as this lovely rose or that you at least experience a few moments of joy in your day. We're all chasing dreams, and sometimes discouragement sets in. Don't let it ruin your day. You have an inner fire that burns and desires to crush those goals. Let your fire burn freely. I keep seeing so many things on Instagram like “this is how much you need to run to work off X amount of chocolate eggs” 🙄 honestly things like that can be super triggering for people. ⁣

Holidays are a time to celebrate, spend time with friends and family, eat delicious holiday food you can only have that time of year (mini eggs come at me)⁣

My tips for holiday eating are to load up on the good stuff first (your veggies, whole foods, lean proteins) but indulge mindfully, eat the special holiday foods you love and enjoy each bite!! ⁣

Honestly the feeling guilty after is way worse for you than a bit of extra sugar is, so enjoy it and then move on 🥰⁣

With Easter fast approaching, diet culture is in full swing. Whilst we may not be able to escape it entirely, here are some tips:
•
Things that tell you how many rows/skips/runs/jumps/hops you have to do to ‘burn off’ all the Easter eggs you’ve eaten are rubbish. Our bodies are excellent at adjusting to adjustments in energy intake and a week or weekend of enjoying bunnies galore is going to have no affect on you physically ✖️
•
Playing devils advocate for a second, let’s say it did affect your body in that you gain a bit of weight. SO. WHAT. Being ‘skinny’ is not the price you pay to exist in this world ✖️
•
Aunt Susan and Grandpa Gerald have grown up thinking it’s okay to comment on people’s bodies and food intake. Know that this is rooted in their own identities and nothing to do with you ✖️
•
Finally, ask yourself, when you grow old and your days are coming to an end, do you think your final thoughts are going to be “I wish I didn’t eat those Easter eggs”? or “I wish I lived my life to the fullest and didn’t deprive myself of things I loved”? • 
I made my decision a long time ago, and it’s not easy, but I truly hope you allow yourself to enjoy whatever your heart desires this Easter. I know I will be 🍫🥚🐰

I am moving in June so I have been going through my things and getting rid of old stuff...I found this running planner from 2016 which was one of the worst years of my eating disorder. I had written a goal weight every.single.day. Next to that I would record my actual weight for the day and I kid you not, the way my day went depended on the relationship of those two numbers.

It was all I could think about. My whole life revolved around it. On days that I felt fat, I would be in a complete panic to exercise and restrict till the feeling was gone. If I reached my goal weight, it would turn into a new, lower goal. It was NEVER enough.

And it never would have been enough. Eating disorders will take and take and take from our lives and they will never be satisfied. They make us believe that happiness is just around the corner...just a few more pounds or that next size, but the truth is, the closer we get to those goals, the more unhappy we become and the more control our ED has over us .

Like idk maybe I’m just fucked up and I expect too much for people but I’m so sick of getting my hopes up for these people who never ever commit or never even care. Esto le valida la enfermedad al paciente, y a veces incluso a su familia y amigos (porque toman más en serio el problema). Es como decir: "Oye, te puedo demostrar que de verdad estoy enferma. Me puedo demostrar a mí misma que lo estoy". Incluso se hacen pactos personales: "Comenzaré la recuperación hasta me ingresen"; "Me voy a comprometer después de haber perdido tantos kilos"; "No pediré ayuda a menos que se me noten los huesos". Y así pasa el tiempo. 📆🍃

the abs and ribs are gone :( I knew this would happen on my weight restoration journey, it’s not easy seeing myself like this and thinking hey, you look good. tbh, i don’t think I do. I’m up 8 pounds in the last month and a half and it’s been REALLY painful. mentally and physically. its what I need to get better though. on the plus side, i’m growing boobs! #edrecovery

Oh jeans, my frenemy, my nemesis. When will I find a trendy pair of you that likes my butt and also lets my belly pooch breathe? (Recommendations welcome) In my sleep deprived and mentally troubled state I came across this photo and naturally decided it would be a good idea to post it on Instagram and write a caption talking about how jeans just often feel like they aren’t made for certain body types at all. I have a belly basically as big as my butt 99% of the time because I’m constantly bloated and I naturally have belly fat so those rigid vintage style mom jeans that look fab on my ass don’t let me breathe when I sit down or eat a slice of bread. Also, dare I say it, my poor vulva is never happy. It gets irritated and wants to breathe a bit more and I don’t blame it. So if anyone wonders why I’ve been barely wearing jeans (not that I expect you would) it’s because of IBS and vulvodynia - both worth a google 😉 Also why I got elasticated work trousers. Actual medical reasons because I’ve been in chronic pain/discomfort  for months and they were in the trousers section at M&S so don’t come at me with that ‘I would say they’re leggings’, thanks Debra. Gonna just post this now before I realise what I’ve done. Dinner (steak+shrimp+mushrooms+salad) ate all but a few pieces of steak.

I was a lazy piece of lard today and I didn’t eat much (breakfast+half protein bar+half iced coffee+almost all of dinner). The storm was pretty crazy being that the whole state was in a tornado watch. So I stayed in bed and slept a majority of the day and then washed my hair and did my whole silvery/purple treatment. I met a guy (on tinder lmao) that is extremely like me which is crazy and he wanted to hangout tonight but my anxiety hit really bad and I told him I was sick hahah fuck me. He’s really cute and sweet and has a cat named Mahi (his cats name is an animal like mine WHAT). Anyway I’ve had two drinks and I want to purge gbye

i fueled myself today. i was able to excersize because i did. i sat and lay in the sun for breakfast and self improvement work. i went to my families house from afternoon to evening so i wasn't alone and was safe. i watched the bolton match with my uncle and cousin (we for relegated to league 1 rippp). i got through an awful flashback/hallucination/panic at the start of easter service by letting myself feel & with the help of my 1/2 grandma. when I was able to focus i calmed myself more by looking at pictures of cats. i spontaneously ate some hot chips at 9pm with my family. 
i am extremely proud of myself for getting through today. my brain felt like it was actually going to pop with attacking busyness. i let go though. i did it. and I feel okay now. even good!

Real talk: I embellish lies and I diminish truths.

I’ll start with a truth I’ve denied for a very long time: I have an eating disorder.

There. I said it.

I’ve never, ever told anyone (until yesterday). And I’ve been in denial about this because it isn’t “clinical” like we would think of a diagnosis of anorexia or bulimia. But my eating patterns and thoughts about food are undeniably dis-ordered.

I feel guilt and shame around this confession, and this is a truth I’d prefer to minimize. It might even feel better to ignore it all together (but it only feels better for a little while). I’d convinced myself I was NOT the kind of girl who would live with an eating disorder for 25 years.

That's a long time to perpetuate a lie.

Friends, this is not the definition of health or wellness.

I diminish the emotional chaos this causes inside me.

I deny it. I pretend it isn’t there.

The truth I knew but didn’t want to embrace is that the key people close to me love me even more now that I’m on the other side of my confession.

I reached out for help. They answered with love, and I’m better for it.

I can take action in truth now. My truth.

This, my friends, is what I think freedom tastes like.

As a health coach, I want to set a good example for my clients. I want to embody strength, confidence.

To that end, I told myself this story (lie) that I had to be a shining example of perfect health and resilient energy. The truth in this story is that I just need to be myself. And right now that self is vulnerable.

Come on. Who else lets the negative Nancy voice in her head lead the way? How many lies has she told you? And you believe them because you’re too busy being proud or humble to admit the truth. Your truth.

I don't know how the hell I feel. I'm starting to put more effort into dealing with my emotions, and I think that's why my ED has been so awful. I haven't been having bad days...quite the opposite, actually. But there's always something a little bit...off. I'm slightly too tired/depressed/anxious. Not enough to totally ruin my day, but enough to feel it. Enough to make me uncomfortable. Enough to put those negative, harmful thoughts in my head. I'm trying to ignore them and deal with them...distraction techniques are my BFF right now.

Moja cierpliwość była wystawiona na dużą próbę zarówno w ciągu dnia, jak i w pracy. Nie przyszedł dzisiaj do pracy niespodziewanie jeden dodatkowy kelner i na głowie miałam dwie sale w lokalu i ogródek, bardzo mi się wkręciła spierała stresu i moja nerwica, jakby „fala” klientów potrwała jeszcze 10 minut więcej to wyszłabym z płaczem ale zaciągnęłam zeby i wytrzymałam. Jestem dziś bardziej zmęczona psychicznie niż fizycznie. Oprócz pracy, w której nadal siedzę, miałam tez sporo zajęć w domu, wiec dzień pełen wrażeń 🤪 dobranoc! 😘

19.04 ️ I śniadanie: owsianka #OneDayMore na mleku sojowym waniliowym + owoce + morwa + daktyle + goja + masło orzechowe ️ II śniadanie: lody malinowe z serka wiejskiego z kostka gorzkiej czekolady wg przepisu @rysia_k ️ obiad: camembert light + warzywa na patelnie z suszonymi pomidorami ️ kolacja: serek proteinowy mięta-czekolada + musli Bio Balans ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Moja cierpliwość była wystawiona na dużą próbę zarówno w ciągu dnia, jak i w pracy. Nie przyszedł dzisiaj do pracy niespodziewanie jeden dodatkowy kelner i na głowie miałam dwie sale w lokalu i ogródek, bardzo mi się wkręciła spierała stresu i moja nerwica, jakby „fala” klientów potrwała jeszcze 10 minut więcej to wyszłabym z płaczem ale zaciągnęłam zeby i wytrzymałam. Jestem dziś bardziej zmęczona psychicznie niż fizycznie. Today’s lunch was SO GOOD! Went to Green Bar in Fort Lauderdale and just wow. My dad and I shared the buffalo tempeh sandwich and Verde Cruz salad. Make sure to swipe if you want to see how freaking  thick this sandwich was. Ended up having to eat it with a fork because there was no way that whole thing was fitting in my mouth.

9/10: When I first ordered this, I was nervous I would regret not ordering a beef burger. When I got my order (in this picture) I was elated by how fresh and crispy it looked. Taking my first bite, I didn’t expect it, but the fried part is made of 2 mushrooms - with melted cheese in the middle 🤤 This “burger” definitely impressed me 👍🏼

You guys know when you’re out to eat with a friend, you’re eyeing their meal, because it looks so dang good, & then it’s like they answered your prayers because they say “Want a bite?” Your face lights up, & naturally, you accept & you take the BIGGEST bite humanly possible (AKA half of whatever it is they’re eating. 😂😭 or is this just me..? 🙃🤦‍♀️ But okay, that’s what happens with these guys, so beware! I was trying to think up what I wanted to make for Easter & realized I haven’t made these in farrrrr too long & they are my absolute fave, so the decision has been made!
