“Namaslay” is a life philosophy that mixes old-world yogic principles with a modern can-do attitude. It marries namaste, the ancient yogic greeting that means “the light in me acknowledges the light in you,” and the contemporary slang term slay, which for our purposes means “to go out there and kill it at whatever it is you're working on—your job, your relationship, your life.”

When I made the decision to become a coach last summer, it didn’t take me long to come up with Namaslay With Nams...
.
My goals as a wellness coach and certified nutrition mindset mentor have always been simple. I want to introduce others to simple, sensible, and sustainable principles that have worked for me and that can help them rewrite their stories, change their relationships with food & their bodies, and allow them to shine. I want to help women get their confidence back, embrace their inner badass, and thrive in healthy, mindful ways. I want to combine my love of zen & wellness with my innate sassy glow-getter-ness and help others do the same!

Last summer I said “enough is enough” and committed to my wellness journey. I chose to start by focusing on my nutrition with a brand new program to help tackle emotional eating, and more... and I lost 25lbs. in 100 days. And I’ve lost another 29lbs. since then.

My new obsession 😍. Ok so I’m a bit behind the times, I had my first ever from scratch chai latte in a cafe in freo this week. Oh my.... My body stopped letting me drink coffee years ago and since then I’ve never found anything that brought the same joy that my daily cup of coffee did. Coffee for me was about the ritual, the smell, the taste and the time for me that I sat and sipped my little cup of joy. Now I’ve found chai, starting with one I got from @capewholefoods until I have time to shop for ingredients there and make it from scratch (this is a fantastic product, beautiful flavour, but a little sweet for my taste buds). I’ve been enjoying it with a homemade unsweetened cashew and macadamia milk (but nutty Bruce was good too) and a scoop of collagen and again it’s the ritual of preparing it (I do it on the stovetop), the smell, the taste and the time I give to myself and sit and sip. In my Learn to be Lean Fatloss Program I teach people to schedule “for me sessions” and to “eat for joy” because it’s not  always about what we need to take out but what we perhaps need to factor in. 
My new chai latte daily ritual ticks both of those boxes 😊.

It is officially fruit season in the northwest 🍒 and I'm excited ✨
•
Over the last few years I've found a lot of healing by shifting to a more low-carb, ketogenic diet. Spoilers: excepting berries, most fruit isn't super low carb... Or ketogenic 😂 But sadly, for a few years-- like so many of us -- I struggled to implement the benefits of these eating patterns without getting carried away in an unnecessary dogma. •
These days, when fruit is in season... I kinda just go for it. And my body seems cool with this plan, and my tastebuds rejoice. •
This isn't a bash of #ketogenic or #lowcarb diets, by the way. These eating patterns are incredibly powerful ways to help facilitate your body's healing and balancing. •
In fact, personally, I will continue to use them as my go-to default because it's where I'll feel best. •
But this is just a reminder that for the vast majority of us, our eating patterns benefit from enjoying seasons... just like everything else in nature 💪🏼 •
And when possible our diets should make room for as much joy and variety as we can, pending it facilitates health and #foodfreedom ✨

I hardly even recognize that girl on the left...

Can we talk about wellness vs. weight loss journeys? Good, because here’s the thing... they are not always one and the same.
.
Weight has always been a struggle for me. Wellness has looked and felt different at different stages of my life... There have been times where I lost weight, but I was not well. And times that I was well, but my body wasn't what I wanted it to be.
.
And today? In this current season of my life? I continue making progress when it comes to my weight loss and I am in, by far, the best mental shape I've ever been.
.
I'm gonna tell you a secret. You see me show up with my sweaty selfies and you might roll your eyes or you might think “that’s not for me” or “I can’t do that.” But the workouts have not been the primary source of my weight loss... it’s the nutrition. For sure.
.
So, why do I show up for my workouts every day? Because THAT is how I round out my wellness. Whether it’s yoga, or walking, or intense cardio, or lifting weights... showing up for my workouts is how I increase my mental strength, my confidence, and faith in myself. It’s an emotional outlet. It’s how I learn what I’m capable of - physically and mentally!
.
Yup, the nutrition, fitness and mindset/inner work make for quite the triple threat - a game-changing combo, for sure.
.
So, while everyone’s path to wellness looks different, I truly believe a well-rounded body/mind/soul approach is where the magic happens.

As an accountability coach and wellness mentor, I’m passionate about helping women rewrite their stories in order to feel comfortable in their bodies through a joyful and fun approach to self care.

I will never tell you “do this” or “don’t do that” … instead, I will give you introduce to the tools and resources to help you kick your inner critic to the curb, turn your fears into motivators, and help you embrace your amazingness - because I know it’s in you! I’m here to guide you, cheer you on, and support you as you tune into your soul and discover how to love yourself.

I also believe in the power in community, which is why I bring babes together in accountability groups where we can learn and heal and grow together.

So, in my Summer SOULstice group, in addition to creating healthy routines with workouts and delish healthy noms (following the fitness and nutrition plans of your choosing), we will be putting extra emphasis on self love, mindset, and emotional wellness - because the inner work is SUPER important!

How do you want to feel this summer... . Vibrant? Energized? Excited? Present? Enjoying the moment? Living to the fullest? . Tomorrow is the start of my Summer SOULstice group - and I am SO excited for this one! Why? Because I’m navigating some big changes in my life - so going all in for this challenge is just what I need for my mental, physical, and emotional wellness. . As an accountability coach and wellness mentor, I’m passionate about helping women rewrite their stories in order to feel comfortable in their bodies through a joyful and fun approach to self care. . I will never tell you “do this” or “don’t do that” … instead, I will give you introduce to the tools and resources to help you kick your inner critic to the curb, turn your fears into motivators, and help you embrace your amazingness - because I know it’s in you! I’m here to guide you, cheer you on, and support you as you tune into your soul and discover how to love yourself. . I also believe in the power in community, which is why I bring babes together in accountability groups where we can learn and heal and grow together. . So, in my Summer SOULstice group, in addition to creating healthy routines with workouts and delish healthy noms (following the fitness and nutrition plans of your choosing), we will be putting extra emphasis on self love, mindset, and emotional wellness - because the inner work is SUPER important! . Came here a few weeks ago and it became an addiction. Prices are pretty reasonable, burgers are highly tasty. Btw, this is "Clapton", burger with blue cheese. And why did i choose it, I like pretty authentic things, tastes which are not ordinary.

In short, highly recommend this place, visit if you find one. Thank you, chefs.

HAPPY! Not just because summer is here. Not just because I’VE LOST OVER 50 POUNDS...

HAPPY because I chose ME - I chose to make my health & wellness a priority, to embrace a life-changing nutrition mindset program, to try at-home workouts, to join an incredible virtual sisterhood of awesome boss babes.

How did I do it?  How did I lose over 50lbs?
• I drank daily superfood shakes full of soooo many goodies and no nasty chemicals
• I drank at least half my body weight (in ounces) in water daily
• I committed to a nutrition plan that was freeing and worked with my busy family/lifestyle
• I got daily accountability, encouragement and tips from other amazing women on this journey with me
• Although exercise started out as “extra credit,” I started adding in 20-30min workouts when I was ready and help me feel stronger mentally and physically • I worked on my mental and emotional health as well as my physical
• I was still able to enjoy foods I love (donuts, pizza, wine) and never felt deprived
••• I NEVER GAVE UP!
.
I am not stopping - because there is no “end” - this is a lifelong journey that keeps getting better every day and has made me a better person, inside and out!
.
That’s why my Summer SOULstice challenge is going to be amazing... With every season of life (literal and metaphorical), we have to opportunity for growth, for transformation, for living as our truest, best selves.
