The Huskies are proud to start the season with a 3-0 win over the Eagles, a victory that shows promising chemistry amongst the players of the newly formed team.
After a hotly contested first period, Simone celebrated her birthday with a goal moments before the buzzer, becoming the first player ever to score for the Huskies. Simone’s strong offensive skills were further backed up by her dominant presence in defense, where she managed to keep the attacking Eagles players at bay.
The second period revealed the strength in the Eagles’ goal tending, as Audrey steered off 12 shots - leaving the period with neither team managing to score, and both fired up for the remaining 20 minutes.
The Huskies came home strong in the third period, with Mel and Heather both potting goals in the first five minutes. The Eagles were not giving up easy though, and continued to fight hard to the very end. Luckily for the Huskies, our newly formed defensive lines rose to the occasion and with an extra strong third period from Nicole, and Ruth’s uncompromising goal tending, the game ended with a convincing 3-0 win to the Huskies. - 1 hour ago
