Last summer, Momcat and I had a fun stare down: I put out the GoPro, she found it, laid on it, loved on it, and later peed on it—and stared me straight in thee eye while doing it. Since things are different this year, I wasn’t sure what she’d do. But, not four minutes after I put it out this morning, she claimed it as hers — the GoPro has the bobcat hairs to prove it (watch till the end!!). I ask you to think on this Earth Day. WE DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER PLANET. There are no clearer words. How many times do we need to say it before we believe it? How many arguments do we need to have about whether climate change is real? Will we believe it when the tide takes away our fancy beach houses? When the polar ice cap is melted? When all the polar bears are gone? When we lose another thousands species to extinction? When a larger than ever weather event decimates another town? What is it going to take? If we aren’t going to change our ways for our own health, or for the sake of our own human children, or because our HUMAN children demand it—then let me add one more creature to that list—do it for Momcat, and her kitten. This planet is their home—and it was before it was ours.
This Earth Day, make a pledge and a promise. Make a change in your life, and a promise to do more. Do a quick google search, and figure out one thing YOU can do differently in your life that helps the environment. We can each start the easiest place possible: with ourselves. So what are you going to do differently tomorrow?? #earthday #earthday2019 #bobcat #wildlifephotography #natgeophotography #natgeoyourshot #natgeoimagecollection #natgeo #texas #catsofinstagram #instagram #amazinganimals #discover_earth #wildlifeplanet #wildlifeconservation #planetearth @instagram @texasparkswildlife @natgeo @cats_of_instagram @wildlifeplanet @ilcp_photographers @bbcearth @discoverwildlife @featured_wildlife @nature_tx - 1 hour ago
