Ingredients
1 and 1/4 pounds of medium to large shrimp peeled and deveined
2 teaspoons olive oil
14 ounce can of tomatoes undrained, crushed
2 teaspoons garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon oregano dried
salt and pepper to taste
3 zucchini spiralized into noodles
1/3 cup feta cheese crumbled
1/3 cup kalamata olives halved
Optional garnishes: chopped parsley and lemon wedges
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until just starting to turn pink.
Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds more. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Add the crushed tomatoes and oregano and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until sauce is bubbling Add more salt and pepper to taste if needed.
Heat another pan over medium-high heat and add the zucchini noodles. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste. Cook, stirring occasionally until noodles have just started to soften, 3-4 minutes.

To serve, divide the zucchini noodles between 4 bowls. Spoon the shrimp and tomato mixture evenly over the bowls and top with feta cheese and olives. Serve, garnished with chopped parsley and lemon wedges if desired.

1️⃣Limit caffeine: This is the first problem that most people are guilty of is caffeine consumption close to bedtime. The life of caffeine in the body can be quite long. Therefore, limit caffeine and stop roughly 6hrs before bedtime.

2️⃣Turn off Technology: We are all guilty of being plastered to our phones, tablets, or TVs before bedtime. These devices mess with our melatonin production due to the blue light being emitted. If you do plan on using your technology before bed, make sure to block the blue light by using blue light blocking glasses or screen luts.

3️⃣Consistent Sleep Schedule: You will feel much better when your sleep schedule is consistent with the time you sleep and wake. Your body will thank you in the long run. Going to bed at 10pm and then 1am the next night will throw your circadian rhythm off when done repeatedly.

Those workouts that surprise you. You know what I’m talking about. The ones you almost didn’t go to. The ones you told yourself you’ll just go and stretch. The ones you said you’ll just take it easy and move your body, do what you FEEL like.

I did a super rewarding Livestrong group at the YMCA on Friday- loads of Q&A after introducing healthy eating sans diets. Most were on a health mission whether it was managing complications related to chemo or managing blood sugar or preventing recurrence. One of the questions was "so what do you think of the plate method"

.. I like the general idea  promoting balance. But personally and professionally, the whole "50% vegetables, 25% starch, 25% protein" doesn't cut it for everyone- the portions need to be tweaked based on appetite, activity, health status etc.

.. For example, if someone has a small appetite related to treatment (or being a toddler or athlete etc) I dont push veggies. Instead it's about maximizing stomach space with essential macro energy needs then play with micronutrients via produce. Yes produce rocks but it's not as essential for immediate health compared to macros. Nutrition is always about balancing short and long term goals.  No one should believe they're hurting or helping their health based on the "rules" of any dietary approach (yes the plate method is a "diet" - it's designed as rule based eating)

But I chuckled as I plated my dinner tonight because it just happened to mirror the method - 1/2 plate roasted veggies, 1/2 plate buffalo tater tot mac n cheese...and of course some rose (s'up summer)

I’ve made these salmon cakes before (you can find the recipe in a previous blog post). They use sweet potatoes and almond flour, both of which can become HIGH FODMAP in large quantities. During the elimination phase of the diet, I recommend limiting your portion to one ☝🏻 to keep those ingredients low fodmap friendly.

発酵食品を作ること、ある生活が当たり前になりすぎて、さらには誰かに伝えることが仕事になってなんとなくわかった気でいた今日このごろ。
ずっと行ってみたかった @tea.suu さんの銀河シロップの会に参加してきました。

発酵って科学の世界であらためて理系の頭をフル活用しての講義と実践でした。とはいいつつ、目に見えない世界の神秘さもあってそこが探究心をくすぐるんだよな〜なんて思ったり。

あらためて初心に返るというか、瓶に詰めた野草と果物たちが美しくって可愛くて仕方なくて。発酵食品を作ることに目覚めた当初って瓶の中で起こる世界をみて「きゃー!可愛い♡」だけだった気がします。

最後は私と瓶と写真を撮ってもらったんですが、そこに写る自分がいきいきしてて、良いエネルギーをもらったなとしみじみ感じてます。

柑橘だけじゃなくて自分で詰んだ野草や、たくさんのネロリや野いちごの彩りが美しくって、何度も愛でた日曜日でした。

What to eat when you are sick 🤒🍯🍵🌶
• Chicken soup has been recommended as a remedy for the common cold for hundreds of years. It's an easy-to-eat source of vitamins, minerals, calories and protein, which are nutrients your body needs in larger quantities while you're sick. Chicken soup is also an excellent source of fluids and electrolytes, both of which are necessary for hydration.
• Garlic provides many health benefits. It has demonstrated antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties and it can also stimulate the immune system.
• Hot tea acts as a natural decongestant, helping clear the sinuses of mucus. Sipping on tea throughout the day is a great way to hydrated while relieving congestion at the same time.
• Honey has a potent antimicrobial effect. Some evidence suggests that honey can also stimulate the immune system.

Look at these beautiful oyster mushrooms from my local farmer’s market. One is the golden oyster mushroom that tastes like cucumbers and the other is a pink oyster mushroom that has a meatier taste. I’m thinking of just doing a simple stir fry with salt to bring out their flavors more.

P O R T I O N S || let’s talk about dinner portions.....most of your energy foods should be consumed around your training ie. pre and post training, so then when it comes to dinner you should reflect on your energy expenditure over the entire day || Light or No exercise day = small portions and small amount of high fibre carbs || Heavy training day = slightly bigger portions with more quality carbs to help you finish off your recovery and ensure you aren’t hungry the following day || It sounds simple but where people run into trouble is if they haven’t eaten enough for #recovery then they come into #dinner hungry or even worse #hangry ....... then portions go out the door|| Lastly, YES you can overeat on protein portions as well as your carbohydrate portions...in this pic the beef portion is 130grams which provides ~ 25grams protein 👌🏽 for optimal recovery.

It was the Sunflower Crisp salad that came with a sweet onion vinaigrette 😋 I added some chicken for that protein 💪🏼

I have been enjoying the nice weather, my friends, yoga, the hospital I’m at and soaking in my last few days in La Crosse 🧀 
I LOVE making/ finding cool food, but in all reality, that’s not the normal diet of life. So that’s why I’ve just been eating pretty basic and uninterestingly these past two weeks. Haven’t really been putting much thought into it...

 واكثر سؤال يمر علي اهو ؛ اقدر العب تمارين الحديد ؟ جسمي مايصير مثل الرياييل اذا رفعت اثقال ؟؟ ويظنون بعض البنات انها تكسب ضخامة و جسم رجولي ، وطبعاً هذا الاعتقاد جداً غلط .

. 🎯ليش غلط ؟ 
لأن تركيبة جسم المرأه تختلف تماماً عن تركيبة جسم الرجل العضلية ! 
و الله سبحانه خلق جسم الرجل ذو كفاءة وقوة عضلية اكثر من المرأه لأن خصص له بعض المهام الصعبة ، و كمثال بناء البيوت .

و التضخيم يعتمد على عدة عوامل منها ؛
 نسبة "ارتفاع هرمون التيسترون" عند الرجل اللي لها دور في زيادة ضخامة وكتلة العضل عندهم ، و الي مستحيل جسم المرأه تتكون عندها كل هالضخامة العضلية ! لان نسبة هرمون الذكورة او التيسترون عند المرأة جداً ضئيلة بعكس الرجل ! .

. 💉 الا في حالة انج تاخذين ابر هرمونات ترفع نسبة التسترون بالجسم او القروث وتتحولين "من انثى الى وحش" مثل ام شعر برتقالي 🦖 .

. 🎯 بأختصار ؛ لعبي حديد وانتي متطمنه ولا تحاتييين  لان بالنهاية بتكسبين جسم صحي متناسق وانثوي 😻🏋️‍♀️
