A lot of coaches don’t like using body weight to track progress.

They say it’s unreliable (which, if you’re using it wrong, is true). Plus it just ends up frustrating their clients 🤬
⠀ 
I agree that, for some people, it might make sense to forego the scale... But that does NOT mean tracking weight is bad, wrong, or worthless!
⠀ 
Your body weight can be a great tool when it’s used correctly and alongside other forms of progress (like measurements & photos).
⠀ 
But here’s the problem ❌ —> Most people don’t know how to “read” the scale.
⠀ 
They’ll see a small jump and freak out. Or they’ll get excited about a big drop (often called a “whoosh”), but then see it go back up some followed by a week or two of no change, and so they’ll assume they’re doing something wrong...
⠀ 
Here’s the Truth ✅ —> Your weight will NOT go down linearly day-to-day or week-to-week.
⠀ 
For most people, it'll look like this:
⠀ 
They’ll have a big drop in weight (their “whoosh”), go up a little, hold steady for a bit, and then repeat the process.
⠀ 
For some people this happens on a weekly basis, for some, it’s a monthly basis. It really just depends on how YOUR body works.
⠀ 
My advice? —> Use the scale to track your progress, but understand how it works, and make sure you're using it the right way.

It’s not going to drop in a predictable fashion...

It’ll go up and down sporadically, sometimes for no good reason at all!
⠀ 
Knowing that ☝️, you shouldn’t freak out every day it doesn’t move the way you want.

Instead, pay attention to long-term trends 📉

When I'm working with clients, I have them take their weight daily so we can use that data to find weekly/monthly averages.

Make sure you’re taking measurements and pictures too, because not all progress is well reflected on the scale.

Day 112: Round 2, week 2 👏🏽 I am currently -5lbs ⬇️ from last Monday!!!! 😝 So excited and I feel great! A lot of people have said the second time around is the hardest but to be honest, I find it easier. I mentally prepared myself to start weight loss again and I already know how to do everything. Guess what, I haven't lost weight :'D However, I'm not mad bc last night I had a weak moment and ended up binging on a box of azuki mochis >_< So I'm ok with mantaining after that episode.. .

Anyway, new day!
I wanted to wake up early and do a bunch of stuff I had pending.. but last night I went to bed veeery late, so no wonder today overslept >_< I had a cocoa nakd bar and an alpro chocolate soy milkshake (288kcal) on the go as I was doing some shopping. I went to flying tiger bc I needed to buy a tin for some loose tea and ended up buying what you see in the photo xD That's an A4 super cute sushi notebook, sushi tape, a couple of long candles and the said tin ^ ^. Actually, I've already been in Tiger a couple of times this week bc now they have all this super cute-kawaii japanese style stuff bc of hanami season, and I cannot resist it ^.^ !! .

After that I came back home for a suuper late luch consisting in a mix of veggies (red onions, courgette, mushrooms and garlic) w/ soba noodles, soy sauce, and some sesame seeds (413kcal in total O.O). It's a HUGE portion and, though they say that is healthier to have your heaviest meal at lunch time, Idk whether I'll be able to finish all of it :'D

The great thing about making sourdough bread every week is the leftover starter. I used to think it was so annoying, and just threw the starter down the drain. But in reality, it creates the most DELICIOUS and healthy pancakes and waffles. These pancakes are actually good for your gut! I always have leftovers that I keep in the fridge and Asher loves snacking on these throughout the week. A healthy toddler treat! 👶🏼🥞

Start position is a straight arm plank. Aim to move your foot as close to your hand on the same side as. Hold the position for 3 to 5 secs and repeat on the opposite side. Aim for a total of 5-10 reps on each side.

I use these hip swings as part of my prep whenever I squat. Aim for 5-10 reps in each direction on each leg. Try to stay loose around your hip and use your full range of movement. ~

#personalpost Going into this week with a fresh mentality and a *hopefully* healed trap. For those of you who don’t know - recently I pulled my trap (I fell asleep with my neck in a bad position!🤪😩) and it formed a tight, rock hard knot on my trapezius. I performed self message and had some deep tissue work done, which almost 99% of the time is what a knot needs. However this time, the deep tissue made it worse - clearly it was too inflamed and needed rest, not massage. So I switched treatment courses and opted for rest, CBD topical oils, Tiger Balm, ice (not heat - increases inflammation), and prioritized sleep. It has been on the mend since and it was just a nice reminder that sometimes the body just *knows* things, and you have to go with what “feels” best, not necessarily the “correct” treatment protocol. Anyways, hoping to do some upper body lifting today, happy Monday to you all!❤️❤️❤️

Lower body workout done.. Facial done... and I dyed my eye brows to match my newly darkened hair. They look kind of dark now, but they will wash out a bit by tomorrow. But best thing - my beautician asked me what have I been doing that my skin looks firmer... Well... CARNIVORING baby!!! Especially the gelatine I have been adding so much of lately! Today is day 26!! Woohoo!!

Building muscle is simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
.
To build muscle you just have to follow these 5 steps:
1.Strength Train
2.Eat a relatively High Protein Diet
3.Focus on Progressive Overload
4.Sleep 7-9 hours per night
5.Be in a caloric surplus (ideally)
.
Those steps are simple and easy to understand, but not always easy to implement, particularly
the last one.

Do you struggle to eat sufficient calories to support muscle growth? This is definitely a good
problem to have, nonetheless, it is still a problem.
.
These 6 snacks should make getting into that surplus a little easier.

You commit to starting a diet and throw all the “bad foods” out of your house, restrict #calories to 1000 daily, swear off carbs, go to the gym 6 days a week, and do over an hour of cardio a day.

You feel dieted. Hungry. And #DEPRIVED. And eventually, the control slips and the #pendulum swings wildly the other way.

After 2 weeks of this super controlled, restrictive environment, you lose #willpower one weekend and #binge eat a bag of chips, order a full pizza to yourself, and eat a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. You hate yourself for what you did, feel ashamed and out of control, and tighten the reins for the next week. You now eat LESS and do MORE cardio to “undo that damage”... and the cycle continues. #viciouscycle

Don’t be that guy! Pull the pendulum slightly and you won’t #rebound. Remove the restriction, remove the over control, and make tiny changes instead. And crazy enough... you’ll gain MORE control in the end. Quick fixes are just that... quick fixes. Eventually, the duct tape will wear down and you’ll be back to the original problem.

This is my 1st suggestion for preparing hips for squatting. Again, aim for 5-10 reps on each side.

If you struggle to hold a deep squat position without falling backwards, then hold on to something in front of you that will allow you to stabilise at the bottom of the squat.

VEGGIES AT BREAKFAST 🌱
Added air-fried kale to coconut cinnamon waffles + eggs this morning to crank up the nutrients after getting home from Arizona 🥞
Adding high nutrient foods to a meal (instead of taking away, restricting foods, cutting out whole food groups, drinking a juice instead of a real meal) is an easy first step when trying to reach a health goal. Other breakfast examples:
✔️Scrambling spinach into eggs 🍳
✔️Frozen cauliflower rice in smoothies
✔️Pumpkin in oats 
Non-breakfast ideas:
✔️Asking for cut-up veggies with chips & guac ✔️Adding tomato/spinach to pizza 🍕

Did some deadlifts today.

AMRAP at 170kg, managed 10 reps, grip went, ran out of steam aswell 😅.
.
Worked upto 200kg for 5 reps after that, defo need a nap now 😴😴.

Portate a ebollizione 120 ml di acqua e versateli sul cioccolato, frullando con il frullatore alla massima velocità.
Continuate a frullare per una trentina di secondi, facendo salire e scendere il frullatore, in modo che il composto incorpori aria. Unite anche 80 g di yogurt Total e frullate ancora per una quindicina di secondi.
Mettete in frigorifero a rassodare per almeno 3-4 ore.
Suddividete la mousse in coppette o bicchieri, alternandola a un po’ di yogurt

For motivating you to move more, an activity tracker is quite powerful. It may seem a gimmick, a toy to play with and forget about. But it makes you more aware of how much you really move.
And awareness is everything!
There is nothing more motivational than clearly seeing what is going on.
Even my health app makes me walk more.
(You know, I do not exercise much currently, but I love food)

Lunch 💞 .
No idea what to call it but it worked and was good. 
Slices of aubergine, just one courgette (so low fod map) and red pepper grilled, layered with mince 5% fat with beef stock and tomato passata & a white sauce made from eggs, lactofree arla soft cheese and grated cheddar. .
Cut into 4 each portion is 0.5 hex A & 1.5 syns. 
Few lunches sorted for the week ahead! .

Lunch . No idea what to call it but it worked and was good. Slices of aubergine, just one courgette (so low fod map) and red pepper grilled, layered with mince 5% fat with beef stock and tomato passata & a white sauce made from eggs, lactofree arla soft cheese and grated cheddar. . Cut into 4 each portion is 0.5 hex A & 1.5 syns. Same breakfast! 
I weighed myself today after my cheat day, which consisted of crumpets in the morning, a sadwich for lunch and a KFC for dinner. (Not a whole day of gorging), and I've gained 5lbs. 😪 I have a few factors that go against me losing weight. 
The antipsychotic medication I'm on has a terrible reputation for making you gain weight, and my Polycystic Ovarie Syndrome makes it difficult to lose weight as well as my implant. However these aren't excuses, they're just things that are against me at the moment. Just gotta work harder! I'm also on my period at the moment, I imagine that's making my weight fly around a bit. I'm not sure if periods make your weight change or not. 
But anyway I'm happily back on plan, and I'll be doing light weights today as my chronic pain is still quite sore. So nice and easy.

Some days are harder than others, and this morning definitely was one of them lol. had a great lift, but was NOT feeling my diet. Sometimes you just have to do things for the sake of getting it done.
