This day, last year, when I first stepped foot on your land, knowing that I had to live here for at least three years, I was scared. Scared about how'd you treat me. Scared about how college would be like.
I still don't know about college, but you, you make me smile from the within; you make me glitter. Not always like the northern star, but like the moon. The beautifully messy blend of bright and pale days.
SIRI FORT ROAD
I chose you because you're super close to my college. The added benefits you gave me are everything I could have asked for.
I'm surrounded by greenery on all sides, the sight of peacocks is more common than the number of momo stalls, the view from my terrace makes life worth living, and no matter what time of the night I look up, I always see stars, always.
And, amaltas, oh god. Ignore everything that people say, you ARE the best road in the whole of Delhi, okay?
KASHMERE GATE (metro)
How do you so effortlessly soothe a broken soul? Knitting wounds with your air always brimming with fresh petrichor, so strong that it can awaken a dead soul. You draw such a fine comparison between nature and humans that one cannot not enter the world of self-realisation.
You're the reason I fell in love with the metro. You will someday be the reason I'll be paying a fine for exiting late from the station.
The first time I met you, it was my birthday. That, and with every subsequent visit, you've gifted something very special to me.
Laying on your grass, with eyes fixed on the sky, I notice the fathomless beauty of this world. Laying on your grass, with eyes closed, I ask if I'd ever reach where I want to. And, I've always got a yes for an answer.
THE NORTHERN RIDGE
You're the rescue for a soul who wants to hide away from the world and be one with the universe. If I ever lost my way, you'd be the place I'll come back to. Your stairs and the pipeline show me the way to my aim and re-assure that I can.
I still don't know which exit to take from Rajiv Chowk to reach where I want to, or which block is which side of the circle. Forgive me for that?
