I love FOOD!
But I, like most women, struggled with a toxic relationship with food.
I focused on CALORIES. I drastically restricted how many calories I ate, and instead of consuming anything real I had low fat, processed, crap made with sugar substitutes that wouldn’t fill me up, let alone nourish my body.
Now I strive to have a food first mentality. What does that mean? I take care for my body from the inside out by eating nutrient packed, whole, unprocessed foods. REAL FOOD!
Tonight I had food with flour in it - organic, unbleached, wheat flour. Yes I had sugar - all natural sugar found in raw honey. I even had full fat yogurt from grass fed cows in a salad dressing. What else did I have? A TON of veggies, fruits, and herbs containing things like antioxidants and phytonutrients that I need to maintain a healthy body.
A healthy body allows me to fight off illness. A healthy body allows me to feel good. A healthy body allows me to reach new heights in my fitness journey.
