2 mile warm up, 10 miles @7:30. Total 12 miles @ 7:37 average. Pretty pleased with that 🙂 I couldn’t handle the distance a few weeks ago, so nice to see that the training is coming together. Added a 650m ocean swim afterwards to cool down, got stung by some little ocean critter, so now nice and itchy and rashy 🙄 nothing a big breakfast and bigger cup of coffee won’t fix ☕️🍳🥓🥐

Good morning 👋🏻 I’m still here, just not running a lot right now. My ankle has been bugging me a little, so instead of running through it per usual, I took a little extra time off after Chicago. Going to try to run a few easy miles tomorrow to test things out and then go from there. Honestly, just proud of myself for not pushing it and making things worse! Spent a good 45 minutes on the bike this morning jamming out to The Greatest Showman soundtrack. I just love it! Have a great weekend, everyone! 💕

So this morning I made a #plan... I am going to make sure I do proper and CONSISTENT cross training... cause lets face it, most #runners prefer to just #run right... I have muscle imbalances as a result of just #running though. It's either continue getting set backs by having the overused muscle groups becoming too tight and the supportive ones too weak,  causing myself injuries or to try as much as possible to enhance my weak and supportive muscle groups around my running muscles therefore decreasing the risk of injury. I dug out my old #beachbody programs that I did pretty regularly b4 starting to #run and have found a cpl #crosstraining #workout plans for those programs geared to running and I'm going to maintain a set plan to become a #healthier, #fitter version of myself 🙂

We have moved on into 
Netherlands🇳🇱 🚌🙌💫
Just a few pics here of our final week in Germany. 
Northern Germany is very flat and as I've said previously lots of bike tracks 🚵🚴, as shown in the photos.  Its been a bit of a change of pace for us as we've spend a lot of the trip hiking the hills but a nice mix of cycling, jogging, HIIT workouts and of course lots of Pilates 😉 will keep things rolling along 👍👊💪😀

Sadly I had to miss my functional 45 #22 FriYAY today but made up for it double! Had so MUCH fun and sweat and laughs with these two besties of mine @brittbritt1990 #Baya. We slammed out a 2 round sesh of some #kettlebellkomikaze from @bjgaddour using 20# dumbbells and through in 2 cardio sets from @kaisafit #justmove. 46 mins later the floor felt sooo good ❤✌. Thanks for the recommendations @caitlinfitness 😎

Super stoked to be sporting these new Alameda threads! It's been a roller coaster of a first two months of school, but my program successfully put on their  first fundraiser, invested in fab new concert garb for my specialty groups, and ordered these cute Ts - and it all came in TODAY!! I couldn't be more proud of my singers (and myself, if I'm being honest) for pulling all this off before our first concert. Not only do I have FIVE distinct choirs to showcase next Wednesday night, we get to do it in style with matching gowns, bowties and even suspenders 😊 Some days it feels like I'm pulling a train behind me, and some days it all comes together and feels like an evil scheme that I've convinced someone to pay me to do what I do everyday 😜 Feeling the reward of teaching today, going into our first concert week of the year. Holding on to the glow until it inevitably fades. Cheers!

Lesson's in training & recovery that i need 2 take on board 4 my nxt event.
Ive only run once this wk since im injured anyway but ive had sum good variety active recovery goin on🚲🏊💪
This morning i biked 2 the gym & did sum HIIT & then put alot of focus on my single leg strength. I definitely notice the difference between my 2 legs. Lots of steps ups & single leg squats & form is the most important thing👍.
Nice bike ride hme & then hit the pool🏊1250m swim then aqua jogging b4 sauna & spa.
I still feel lazy when i hav'nt run😕its the psychological effect running has on my brain😂😜It's Addicting!!

Also thank you for staying consistent with your programming. “Proud” would be an understatement. ‼️If you want to try out this circuit, here is how we started off our workout today (after our warm-up obviously) 😁‼️ (3 rounds) pull-ups x failure, negative pull-ups x 1-2, banded rows (variation) x 10-12, glute medius activation (lateral walks), then box jumps x 10. (Rest up to 1 minute between rounds). •• Eccentric (negative) pull-ups after failure are incredibly helpful to build strength. Eccentric overloading is one of the most proven ways to get stronger. •• Banded rows are good to do following pull-ups because of the similar (yet different) muscle groups. This movement is great for correcting posture/alignment, by contracting the mid back and opening up the chest. You can see how he gets tired and tries to recruit the upper traps. Really try to maintain an upright posture, keep the chest up and pinch the shoulder blades together. •• Glute medius work before box jumps are helpful because they activate the glutes (duh), but also help correct knee valgus (knees caving in). They also allow you to use more of your posterior chain to protect your knees and hips from injury. •• Training SHOULD be fun, but it should also be making you stronger, better & faster. By that I mean FUNCTIONALLY stronger, better at life (less pain and improved mechanics) and faster (more efficient with your movements and more agile). Today I am grateful:

For the train. I’m in Boston Friday mornings and usually drive in. This morning I got to take the Commuter train. The benefit is time to sit, think, and get some work done. Today, I did some writing on the computer, but I also spent time processing with good old pen and paper. Sometimes my brain gets stuck when staring at a screen and paper lets the thoughts roll more. The act of writing gives me more physicality to the words enhancing the power.

A few people have asked me recently why they "can't loose weight" in my opinion it simply comes down to calories in vs calories out. And I attribute a lot of the blame to 'modern'  machines with calorie burn calculators... I did a little experiment today .
I am comparing the data to my Polar V800 sports tracker setup to my height weight etc etc with chest heart rate monitor - so it's pretty accurate.
First exercise shown on the top was 30 mins on the cross trainer ... a whopping 570 calories burnt ... apparently ... closer to 300.😔😔😔
Second exercise was a gruelling 15 minutes of stepper... another 300 burnt.... actually more like 170😫😫
The message ? If you are in the gym and doing exercise ... brilliant .. better than sitting on your arse doing fuck all so great work👌👍👊 but don't be fooled into thinking that these silly calorie calcs are even close to being accurate, use it as a reference point to how hard you have worked definitely ... but 45 hard mins in the gym for me today was just about enough for 1 Big Mac burger without the chips 🍟🍔Approx 550 cals, nothing close to the nearly 900 + that the machines had calculated. So if your goal is weight loss, or fat loss as it should be known ,eat smart guys, 6 pack is built in the kitchen !✌️👍

If you can't laugh at yourself what the point??

Y'all I got lost today... Straight up "I'm not where I should be and I don't know where here is" LOST. The first map is my solo two miles, the second map is from running with the Stroller Warriors where I got so wrapped up in my speed work I forgot to turn back towards the cars... What??? Just have to laugh bc honestly this is so me haha. Hopefully That's the only adventure I'll go on today 😂

I have always wanted to learn how to box 👊 I ordered my gloves this morning. I will create a podcast episode on my thoughts & feelings as I start something new. Many of you are just starting to workout & are struggling. I want to use this as a way to inspire & teach you how I start something new. I am not afraid to teach myself because I simply don't care if someone judges me. All it takes is confidence because I truly believe I can figure out most things through repetition.

Struggles of a kid with a fit mom.... Having to wake up an hour earlier on a school day so mom can make it to her workout. She's a champ though! She loves the gym, loves hanging out with her friends at the childcare, and hopefully, is proud of her mommy's dedication to a healthy, happy, active life. .

That's all I ever want. To inspire my little girl to know that strong is beautiful. To know the gym is a happy place not a scary one. To know that your only real competition is who you were yesterday.

She's why I'm a #fitmom. Sure I'd like to drop a pant size. Sure I have strength goals. But most importantly I want to be the best person I can be for her.

Ya girl got up and at it nice and early this am. 💪🏻 I’m all about those morning runs but I rarely make it to the gym before work. 🤷🏼‍♀️ There’s something about working out in an empty gym at 530 am that I absolutely loved so I may be doing this more often. Hip didn’t bother me at all today even tho I only ellipticalled for 25ish min and lifted all upper body. Really hoping this pain is just caused by my piriformis being tight. Stay tuned 👀👀 Short day of work then I’m off to JERSEY 💕Happy Friyay!! 🍷😊✌🏼

You may not like working out at the gym and that is O.K.!! It’s not for everyone and you’re not alone so don’t force it.. Keep experimenting with different kinds of physical activity until you find YOUR THING. Maybe it’s curling or quidditch or running around the house with your kiddos. When you find something that you look forward to rather than dread, you’re much more likely to stick to it and that’s the most important thing!!!! 🏄🏼‍♀️⛷🤽🏼‍♀️🤾🏽‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️🤺🏂🏊🏼‍♀️🚴🏽‍♀️
