19.1 = done! 🚣🏻♀️ Being 5’8” and having rowed IRL for a year, I could have felt the pressure on this one for sure. But expectation is irrelevant and I knew that on the day, I just had to do my own thing. I had a plan, and I stuck to it... my goals for this workout?
keep a consistent pace, holding enough for a little push at the end
break the wall balls up, but get straight back to them after counting to 5
finish the workout feeling calm and strong
I achieved all three of those things and walked away from @crossfithuntsman feeling very happy with a score of 252 reps.

I’ve always criticised myself for never being able to reach that deep dark place that people seem to be able to get into. I can’t push 100% and hold onto it. 🥵 But, let’s face it, the open isn’t my priority right now anyway (and I’m hardly going to the Games ) - I have two marathons to train for! And the knowledge bomb 💭 of @rosscojammin rings true... it’s better to give 80% 100% of the time, than go balls out (pun intended) and end up burning out - short and long term! Calm and focused on my own game seems to work for me, and I’m pleased my head stayed with it. ️🏼

Good luck to everyone else taking part in the Open this year - it’s amazing fun and I love how accessible it’s become. Go smash it guys and, most of all, ENJOY! 🏻️ I’m now off to join @reebokuk at @strengthindepthuk for a weekend of watching other people do fitness! Oh and, in case you’re wondering, these shorts are @halofitnesseurope and they’ll be on sale there at the @kitboxco stand... quote SID35 at the stand to get the show offer!
