OK, let’s talk OATMEAL. So I’ve been eating oatmeal since I was a little 🐿 because I’d always snatch the leftovers from @mosoccer11 pot. I thought I was always doin it the right way, but since being exposed to the health community on Instagram, I was wrong. I love seeing how everyone makes their oatmeal look so divine, so I’ve finally got on board and adopted a few techniques. If you are not a fan of oatmeal (like my sibling 🐿 @evankw ) you HAVE to try cooking it like this:
- SOAK 1/3 cup oats overnight with water (or almond milk whatever you prefer) in a tight-sealed container
- Drain, and the next morning add oats and 2/3 cup water to the pot, bringing to a boil + then simmer on low heat
- STIR STIR STIR. After a few mins of cooking, add in:
1 tsp maca (can omit if you don’t have), 2 tsp ground flax (I’ve been putting ground flax in my oats for over a year now and it’s the best- ask @rosannekarmes ), desired amount of cinnamon shakes, 1/4 mashed banana (a NATURAL sweetener that makes the oats creamy), and a splash of almond milk if you used water to soak.
Topped with @cbs_nuts PB, leftover banana, blueberry chia jam (just wild blueberries, sprinkle of chia seeds and water, heated up on a pan until jam-like consistency), cacao nibs & bee pollen. - 3 hours ago
