We are trying to come up with a "Farm-style" kitchen without being too "Farmhouse Style." I have always loved the idea of a farmhouse. But lately, the world of Pinterest and TV Flip shows has over-trended the concept to be so predictable and mass marketed. So how do you come up with something that hasn't been done a thousand times before? How do you make timeless selections, that aren't boring, but still on trend? How do you process through the bagillions of finishes available and make intentional choices that mirror your surroundings without creating a theme? It's so easy to copy what everyone else is doing, so how do we keep things fresh? We love to stay neutral on the big items, like cabinetry and countertops, then choose fun finishes....drawer hardware, fun lighting, unexpected art. Most of all, we don't want to sacrifice function, so we keep our kitchen designs simple, hard working, and thoughtfully executed. Mostly, we want it to stand the test of time and be a space that holds its value even after the trend subsides. Would you like help with your upcoming kitchen design or remodel?
