When @fit_brea programs hang clean technique into programming and I get to share a few drills with our group training class - clean contact drill, transitioning from triple extension to the catch were just a couple of the drills I had these beautiful humans perform before we got into a super fun WOD that included:
-Running
-Deadlifts -Hang Cleans
-Shoulder to Overhead (Push or Jerk)

I don’t show it much, but it’s OKAY to fail a lift. Like I did with my OHP, I could only squeeze out 4 reps instead of 5 on my top set. I was REALLY grinding that last rep out on my 4th rep of 210. However, I did redeem myself, going back at it and hitting a double! 
Also shown is my go to accessory for shoulders, the z-press, doing 3x5x155.
Then bench at 10-6,3x5 EMOM at 205. 
Lots of accessory and bicep work too!

our body is not designed to have individual muscles work independently from others! our body is designed to function synergistically! once we develop that lost skill even a bicep curl can find huge performance increases! honing the timing and amount of a hip shift forward and a backward lean can make even 65lbs feel nice and easy when performing a DB Curl. whats the point of growing big arms if they aren’t strong? another tool for the tool belt on arm training!

The human body is an amazing machine. It can accomplish great things when given the correct stimulus, recovery and fuel. That’s why I choose to program design based on movement patterns and using different energy pathways in my #workout #routine . Some days will be heavy (which are my favorite) and some days will be light. But I can tell you that no workout will ever result in the exact same workload or output. Swipe to see some clips of today’s workout in which i chose a unilateral press instead of the well known bilateral versions of these movements. The first was an incline single arm db Chest Press while the other was a single arm kb Strict Press. I love these types of variations as it requires an extraordinary amount of core strength to effectively complete the movement. Your core mainly functions to stabilize the spine so why not train it that way? Your core also functions to flex, extend, rotate and resist rotation which is why I performed some of the other exercises you see here like the T-push-up. Give them a shot and let me know what you think. I guarantee you’ll feel your core light up as soon as you start! Anyways, here’s to another successful workout.
