I've been thinking a lot about medium. I'm a lover of the classic album (any physical medium) with artwork, information, maybe lyrics or some cryptic messages, whatever. But in the digital the all of that has mostly died with exception of the tape and vinyl resurgence and while I'm loving it and I really want vinyl I feel that it's incredibly irresponsible to keep producing dangerous plastics. The cassettes I'm using are all cassettes that I have left over from my early days of #sixtrack back when I was screaming metal vox and audio engineering on whatever I had because someone had to do it, might as well be the useless singer 🤣 any way that's just something I was thinking about regarding medium and format which led me to the idea that I'm going to utilize longer releases. I'm not going to adhere to the #iTunes culture of buying only the songs you like. You can't see the forest for the trees and any musician or artist is more than just a collection of singles. Entire careers of only greatest hits. And things like #Spotify and #soundcloud reinforce this culture amongst the new artists because they'll quickly notice that no one gets past track 2 of their album... if that far. Didn't mean for this to be a rant but there's so many insane aspects of music and its overall treatment in society. The least of which being the idea that music should be free with no regard for how to compensate artists for what they do. My answer as to how to survive as a musician today? I started making films. I make music and audio engineer those films and I make music for fun because it's not a very lucrative form of expression. But I love it

If you could jump on a plane in one hour and go anywhere you wanted to, in the whole world, where would you go? Tag who you’d go with. Keep your day dreaming alive, friends! It’s good for the heart. - 10 hours ago
