From Across the Street and Through Two Sets of Windows - dir. @r4burning
This was a really unique project to work on. I wasn't going to take any more work before leaving to Newfoundland but I did agree to at least jump on a call with the director. One of the first things he said was 'I feel like I don't want to see her face until the end of the film'. It was at that moment that I was like okay, you got me, let's hear more. I'm pretty sure the phone call ended with 'alright, I feel like we could keep talking about this all night so I'm gonna stop us here'.
The idea changed from 'not seeing the main characters face' to more positioning the camera/ lighting to make it difficult for the audience to intimately connect with her. This is a person who has shut themselves off from civilization and the intimacy of human contact so we wanted the audience to feel that wall she's put up. The key was to try and find that balance where you were interested in what was happening but always felt like you needed a little more. - 9 hours ago
