Meet Dr. Chris Paul!⁣
⁣
🏋️He's a Physical Therapist specializing in Crossfit and Weightlifting at Mobility Fit Physical Therapy – Centerville. ⁣
⁣
🏀🏊⛹️🏃🏉Chris was truly a play-it-all athlete growing up. From swimming and track to basketball and football, at one point or another, Chris played almost every sport his high school had to offer. ⁣
⁣
⚾⚾His passion was centered around baseball as he was a pitcher for 12 years growing up. ⁣
⁣
Chris continued that passion for competition into college where he was a part of the Army ROTC Ranger Team 🎖️, ran the Flying Pig Marathon🏃 in Cincinnati and the Chicago Triathalon 🏊🏃🚴⁣
⁣
After graduation from the University of Cincinnati, he worked at Cincinnati Children's hospital for 4 years as a mental health specialist before he chose to return to school and earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. 📒📕📝⁣

Throughout that time Chris has continued his passion for competition with local races, weightlifting, and his most recent passion of hiking and backpacking 🏕️with his beautiful family (wife Amy, daughter Lylah, and son Caleb)! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦⁣

A client came to me after having 3 days of neck pain due to a pinched nerve. She received some relief from Chiropractic help but still had limited range of motion, pain and discomfort. After cupping and active release therapy along with other modalities (exercise/stretches, Needling, modifications) she is feeling much better and has almost full range. This is a topic often brushed under the rug, not talked about, and worse, not acted upon. ⁣

Women 👩 and men 👨 (that’s right, men have pelvic floor muscles too) mostly ignore issues of pelvic health because they are uncomfortable to talk about. ⁣

This often leads to inaction, and living life with problems that just aren’t necessary. ⁣

Meet Scotty, aka Big Papa Pump. He came to us by way of probation on February 22nd. To help him get on the right path and begin a healthier lifestyle he chose to be a part of our Tribe. In his first month SCOTTY HAS LOST 20 lbs!!! He has consistently worked hard with us in the gym and made huge strides changing the way he eats. His results are testimony to the work he has put in. We’ve known Scotty for a long time now and to be honest have had some negative run ins with him in the past. This makes working with him and the attitude he’s shown even better. Control is the essence of movement. As an coach, you can implement the "best" & "hardest"  movement drills you can think of. However, the level of difficulty means nothing if your client/athlete hasn't reached a level to where they can execute the movement w/good control, then you're doing them a disservice.

The 1st drill was at the end of an hour long full body workout; the other was about midway through. Both require control especially at the end when fatigue is setting in. But as the coach, you train your clients to be able to weather this storm & dig deep to make it through.

Control is the essence of movement. As an coach, you can implement the "best" & "hardest" movement drills you can think of. However, the level of difficulty means nothing if your client/athlete hasn't reached a level to where they can execute the movement w/good control, then you're doing them a disservice. The 1st drill was at the end of an hour long full body workout; the other was about midway through. Both require control especially at the end when fatigue is setting in. Leg Workout 👇🏻

I wanted to take give my lower back a break and still torch my legs so I put together this little number for lifting club this past week:

Barbell Hip Thrust: 4x10
Walking Barbell Lunges: 4x Down & Back 
GHR: 3x10
Front Squats: 4x10,8,6,4
.
The idea being to tax the quads and glutes with more focused movements prior to loading up the weight for front squats (which also lessen the work on the low back compared to back squats).
