Have you noticed that people are either tolerant or intolerant? In a dispute or misunderstanding their are differing opinions and thoughts, and either both people are intolerant of the other, or just one is intolerant. *** I recognize this is a broad thought and not all disputes are due to intolerance but I’m using it to showcase a thought.
I’ve been intolerant recently. I haven’t been running rampant getting into disputes or misunderstandings but I’ve been less loving, less understanding, giving more judgment than grace. I’ve thought am I just hormonal, is it my kids fighting nonstop, I’ve been in God’s word everyday. It took me a few weeks to know why.
In the beginning of the year I started a new plan to read the Bible in a year, and I noticed initially (previous years I did my own reading which included 1 chapter Old Testament, 1 chapter New Testament, proverb of the day, and a psalm.) that I need New Testament reading daily for my spirit. So I’d add it in when I felt I needed it. Here I am in month 7 and though I had some New Testament reading a month ago I haven’t had much since. Though I’ve loved reading about Elijah and Elisha and gleaning insight on the access we have to God. There’s just something so much sweeter in the New Testament. The fulfillment of promise and covenant, the gift of life and renewal. Jesus.
I spent some time in Romans today. I’m unsure if my intolerance has left completely but feel invigorated by His living water today. If you’re like me and haven’t been in the New Testament recently I encourage you to do so. Be invigorated by His life giving word. For His Name... let my life echo you Jesus! ❤️ #echojesus #lifegiving #invigorate - 1 hour ago
